CHAPTER 40

It was bright. The morning sun rays that were delicately streaming through the curtains fell across where she was lying. She noticed the dust motes that were dancing in the air gave off a feeling of being so peaceful and everything seemed to be so warm.

“Good morning, sweetheart.” a deep voice echoed next to her ears, and she instinctively smiled after hearing that voice.

“Morning, Sam…” she replied in her morning voice even before turning around. Then she turned towards the other side of the bed. But it was empty. Sam was not there.

“Sam?” her gaze looked around. It suddenly turned dark.

With widened eyes, Zary searched around anxiously for him. She then dashed towards the door, calling out his name somewhat nervously. But what welcomed her the moment she stormed out the door was not her own living room. She was suddenly in an unknown, eerie-looking spacious veranda.
