FILE.15

Cedric came home just as Rosie was setting the table. Rosie looked at him with surprise when he entered the great room. She'd thought that she and Calypso would be dining together again, as they had for the past few days. Calypso, on the other hand, looked like she'd been expecting him.

"I'll take my leave now," Calypso said, giving a still stunned Rosie a small goodbye wave. Then she hurried out of the French doors and practically ran towards the guest cottage.

"What's for dinner?" Cedric asked as he put his briefcase down.

Rosie straightened. "You're home. How's work?"

"Annoying. I can't believe there are so many incompetent people working in that company." He looked up at her. "How about you? What have you been up to these days?"

"Calypso's been teaching me how to cook and bake. I actually cooked all the food tonight."

Cedric walked to the table and she felt herself still. "I won't get food poisoning, right?"
