Chapter 9: 'MIA...to a new beginning.',
Everyone was started to see and hear Lucas today.
"Grandpa, Dad, Uncle, and Aunt...where were you when she almost died when she was a child...? What did you do when the boy you guys selected when she was barely 17 didn't even attend the engagement making her a joke and humiliating in front of all the guests as she stood alone bearing all those words...? Where were you when she was kidnapped at her birthday party along with Gina...?", Lucas each word made them speechless and ashame.
"It's fine I can answer. You guys were busy playing with Olivia and f I didn't see her she would be a dead body now. That man he was my age when was 22 and what did he do...? He said he was okay with that marriage later said he has someone he loves. Uncle said it was fine to fall in love and let the matter go because he's the Grandchild of Old Su. Because of your business dealings you've let that scum go. She never questioned you guys. Okay now her kidnap, You guys were all busy caring for Olivia as you left Mia alone in the house without any protection when I and Anna and ask about her we would have never known that she was missing. Luckily she was saved by Alex who happened but what about her trauma and her depression when she lost her best friend...? You know after this issue I took her responsibility and been there for her...Only I have the right as I already respect every one of you here as I agreed to the man you guys selected.", Anan spoke bluntly.
"Just because she looks like grandma doesn't make her a tool for you to play along with her emotions. Once you see Olivia a little hurt you run to her abandoning Mia. Uncle and Aunt, I know you guys love Olivia far more than your own daughter. I will not comment on any of your characters or choices. I just hope you'll respect my choices.", He spoke as he dashed out as pulled Anna along with him.
The hall remained silent as the car drifted far.
Old Chen fell back onto the sofa.
"Dad are you okay...?", James quickly spoke.
"James take me to study.", Old Chen spoke.
"You guys sleep early. I will take dad upstairs.", James spoke as Edric nodded.
James and Old Chen entered the internal lift and went up.
"Uncle, Aunt...", Olivia worriedly spoke.
"Don't worry dear as I said Alex will marry you...I promise.", Edric spoke.
"I believe in ou Uncle. But what about Mia...?", She pretended like she was really worried for Mia.
"Haha...I have other plans for her.", Edric spoke.
"Then I won't feel bad. I will turn it in. You guys sleep too.", Olivia spoke as she walked towards the stairs in her room. Penny and Edric walked towards their room too.
"Hubby what to do...? If Mia becomes heiress to Wen's then what about our daughter...?", Penny spoke as they entered their room.
"Silly it's not over until it's over. This time Lucas did us great help making the marriage a secret. Why worry we can just make her disappear from the world...we can't stop the wedding openly because I am still Vice president and I don't wanna take any chances. Instead, I can do anything in secret.", He smiled slyly.
"Hubby you are the best.", She hugged him.
Meanwhile.
"Do you blame me...?", Anna spoke as she saw Lucas driving calmly.
"We'll talk when we go home.", Lucas stared at her as he lazily spoke.
The ride was too silent as they reached their apartment.
After a few minutes.
The door was unlocked as Anna and Lucas entered the house.
When she turned to close the door a hand wrapped her small waist as she felt a warm breath near her ear.
"It must have been hard in you too. Thank you for protecting Mia despite being the same age as her. You both must have felt helpless sorry that I was a bad boyfriend and bad brother.", He heard him speak as she felt her shoulder becoming wet.
"When did you find out...?", Tears roll down her cheek as she held his hands tighter.
Lucas explained all that happened as Anna silently listened to him. By the time he was done, she was on the verge of a breakdown.
"Lucas do you blame me for not saying all of these...?", She spoke as she turned towards him and stared at his starry eyes that were red and swollen as hers.
"No...Mia is stubborn you must have also felt helpless that you had to hide this from me...yet thanks for being there for her...!", He confessed as he wiped her tears.
"What would I do with you both...?", Anna felt helpless they are both so understanding that made one speechless.
"Does she hate me...? She must have filled with hatred towards us right...?", He spoke making Anna's heartbreak into countless pieces.
"No she was afraid that those fake parents of her might do something to you...so she didn't dare to speak another word. Lucas when will you let her know that you are her real brother...? I'm 200% sure that she'll feel happy.", Anna spoke.
"Not now Ann. Uncle started to scheme and made changes in the company...I have to deal with all these first and find out who's behind him. Until then Mia has to remain in dark. I can't risk her life.", Lucas spoke.
"You mean someone is helping your Uncle...?", Anna's eyes widened in shock.
"Yes, so I can't bear to make Mia suffer...so I made an agreement with Alex.", Lucas replied.
"But what should we do if they fell in love...? What if...?", Anna didn't dare to speak seeing his darkened eyes.
"He's too dangerous and he was sure he'll not fall in love and a girl like Mia might not be his type. Even if she is I know he knows his limits.", Lucas mysteriously spoke.
"Cool. I will always support you. Now that I'm back...Mia will be under my care in the college don't worry.", She assured him.
"You are the two important women that left in my life. Who would I believe if not for you.", He felt better after speaking to her.
Wen's Residency.
Mia saw the large gates opening as the name was written in bold letters "ATLANTIS".
Old Wen saw Mia what Mia was staring at as he spoke out of nowhere.
"Once Alex's grandma read a comic that had a hidden beautiful city called "ATLANTIS"...it was unknown and mysterious and yet breathtaking so she fell in love and named this mansion as "ATLANTIS.".", Old Wen explained.
"Usually I like to stay here. You and Alex will stay in the villa that's nearer to the company.", Old Wen spoke making Mia blush.
He was cheered to see Mia happy. He was sure this young woman will bring pride and smile to the family...likewise he would love her unconditionally too.
Mia saw the Mansion as Nirvana entered her mind. She closed her eyes.
