Chapter 17 : "Hello Uncle Zhi.",
The auditorium started to fill up as people started to walk in...many just walked away seeing that Mia was at last as they preferred the front seats.
"Mind if I sit here?", A girl's voice resounded in her ears. For some reason, Mia felt it awfully familiar.
She turned her head to a woman in her short hair giving an unfriendly vibe with a stern face. With her suit, she looked elegant and her posture was an eye-pleaser.
"Senior what are you doing here?", Mia was flustered to see her senior here. She spoke as she moved aside to give her space.
"I have recently joined the college as the new professor. I'll be doing my classes and my job in the hospital.", Ruth smiled as she sat beside Mia.
"Uncle Gary always praises you...", Mia smiled as she saw the women in front of her, she looked handsome rather than pretty. Her crystal eyes were shinning brightly as her short hair was heck black giving a flutter to ones heart. If someone doesn't know they might assume her as boy like Mia did at first,she looked worry at the moment as she waved her hand at Mia to make Mia come out of the day dream.
"I heard you came back to the hospital again.", Ruth spoke as she stared at Mia with her darkened eyes. Mia knew she was angry again so she did dare to speak nonsense and began to think for a moment to get a perfect excuse. Mia knew Ruth was always caring and she didn't want to outright lie to her. So she wanted to find an excuse that is similar to the truth.
Ruth Xu is the only heir to Xu's so she was admired by many. She is one of the few youngest doctors who were well known in the psychology department. Her skills are top-notch so Mia admired her.
"Senior...aren't I good? It was just an allergy.", Mia smiled as the speaker started the introduction. After a while, different professors entered the stage and spoke about academics. Ruth was to attend the college from tomorrow so she maintain a low profile.
The session was finally done as Mia and Ruth parted. Ann had classes till evening so Mia had to say alone till then.
Suddenly she remembered that her phone wasn't with her as she pull out the phone and dialed her number after a minute thought. The call went in.
"Hello.", Her mellow voice entered his ears.
"You are...?", The other person's base voice came through.
"Mia...Mia Chen.", Mia spoke.
"Elijah Zhang. I'm currently at roman street. Do you know any near places we can meet ?", His voice was unique it had a strong base.
Mia realized that is a place she know.
"Then please come to the Lifeline orphanage. Thank you.", She replied.
"Sure.", Elijah hung up the phone.
Mia quickly took a cab and reached the orphanage. Before she walked out she took out a mask and glasses and put them on. She walked out of the car as the security seeing Mia quickly went inside to inform the head as if it's a habit.
"Miss.", A walked out greeted her with a smile.
"Hello Uncle Zhi.", Mia smiled.
"Let's go.", He said as they walked in.
Mia and Peter Zhi walked towards a villa that's at the entrance. The moment she walked in she saw Keli wang walk towards her.
"Wifey arrange the necessities.", Peter Zhi spoke as Keli Wang walked out with them.
"Aunt Wang.", She smiled and greeted her.
"Greetings Miss.", Keli smiled and passed her the makeup removal liquid and extra requirements.
"Uncle Zhi when a call comes from this mobile please hand it to him and take mine.", She politely spoke as she walked in with the tray.
After a few minutes, she walked out as Peter and Keli couldn't help but admire her beauty.
They felt it was too bad that this beautiful diva hides her face...yet they felt she has her reasons to do so.
"Missy is still shinning brightest and pretty.", Keli wang smiled as she took the tray.
"Aunt Wang you are overpraising me again.", Mia warmly smiled.
"Missy you are indeed the most beautiful woman we ever saw. So please know that we are not overpraising.", Peter smiled and replied.
"Alright, you too. I will go to the orphanage then.", Mia smiled and walked towards the exit.
"Missy, Children were asking for you the other day.", Aunt wang spoke as she handed her a whitecoat and stethoscope.
Both entered the orphanage as Peter stood there in all smiles.
30 minutes later.
Elijah walked out of his Porsche as he walked towards the orphanage. The security bowed as he opened the door for him.
Elijah slowly walked in as he entered the inner main gate to the orphanage. Before he could dial a number. A mellow voice entered his ears that pulled his instant interest. He followed the sound to see an auditorium full of children and a petite beautiful woman who stood in middle with a microphone attached to her body. She was explaining some story as she enchanted it.
His smile widened as he unlocked the door a little hear what her little clumsy actions are all about.
"...so little Elle was shocked as she stared at the big Monster in front of her...Yet she steadied herself and warmly smiled at the Monster who jump in front of her out of nowhere. Oh now the big Monster looked shocked as he wondered why this little girl is smiling at him..", She did the enacting that made the children laugh out loud.
"...Then the big Monster got angry as he looked down and "Hey little girl why are you smiling at me...people run away if I'm near?" The monster spoke as he looked at the girl. The girl was still smiling she extended her hand and signaled the monster to come closer. Flustered Monster did as she asked. The girl smile widened as she said "Why should I be afraid ? You are not scary but just a little taller than me. Wait for me to grow I'm sure I can be your competition. She spoke as she patted his large head.", Adi spoke as the children were deeply immersed in the story.
Elijah who never heard this kind of story also maintained his focus.
"...Then the monster said, "Little girl people say I'm dangerous and ugly," he spoke as he looked at the little girl in a confusing mode. Then the girl shook her head helplessly and raised to say "Hey tall man I was with you for 10 minutes did you harm me? and you are not ugly it's just you never smile people think you are weird and why are you bothered by what society says and not follow your own heart. She repented him as the monster was flabbergasted.", Mia stopped the story and stared at the children.
All the people in the room felt disconnected as they stared at her to complete the story but Mia stood there silently as a cheeky smile appeared on her lips.
Elijah saw her smile as he felt tingles inside. He had seen many beauties but he never saw a girl who looked this charming and beautiful with just a smile on her face. Yet what made him more attracted was her demo near and her little story that she paused.
"Old rules....now complete it and let me hear your ending.", She spoke.
"We knew it...Sister Mia, you never change.", A little boy spoke as he opened his pen cap to write on paper.
"Arghh I used my brain last time...now I have to focus again.", A little girl cried out.
"Don't because your brain is full of mud.", Another joked as the children laughed and started to focus on their scripts.
Mia smiled and walked towards the table and started checking the files. Then one by one she kept calling the children names and started examining them. Elijah saw her as he felt some unknown feeling towards her. By looks, it seemed this wasn't her first time. His lips raised into a smile as he walked out without any sound.
He then reached the exit and dialed his number. The call went in.
"Hello.", A man's voice entered his ears.
"I'm at the entrance.", Elijah spoke as he saw a Middle-aged Man shaking his hand. Peter quickly walked towards him.
"Sorry for the delay. Here this is your Mobile Mister.", Peter spoke as they exchanged the phones.
"Thank you. May I know where the lady who had my phone is ?", Elijah spoke as he saw Peter smile.
"Sorry, she went back home and asked me to do this favor.", Peter spoke politely.
"Oh Thank you then.", Elijah spoke as he walked out without further questions.
For some reason, he knew this was not the end. Anyway, he had her number. His smile increased as he walked towards his car.
