Sage sighed as he leaned back in his chair in a sleep deprived haze, idly tossing a rune up into the air, letting it fall lightly into his hand. It could all be simple, just one missed catch and the warehouse and all its contents would go up in flames. There was enough power in it; he'd been charging it for days now, steadily adding more and more into what was effectively a bomb at this point.

*"Myr! Come on. The caretakers are letting us go to the library!"*

It wouldn't be a tragedy. The world wouldn't be that worse off without him. Still. The world couldn't have its pound of flesh yet after all. Too many things to fix and nobody out there fixing them.
"That's rather foolish, don't you think? And far too idealistic"

How long had it been since he slept?
"Come on, think about it. You know exactly how to get results. How to get exactly what you want. If a few people get hurt in the process, so be it"
It was a familiar voice .
*"You're all called snow, because you're one big family"*
"You know how to carve out a world for that family. How to make sure people like me never walk this planet again"
"Burn it all down. Build a new world."

"Easy to say for a hallucination. I'm not a fool. I'm weak. Hilariously so" His voice echoed out in the empty warehouse
"Oh, Myrddin. You're stronger than you know and with so much potential. So much potential to make sure that people like me never infest society again."
Sage was quiet as he looked back down at the rune in his palm. It was hard to focus now. Why did he make this?
"Come on Myr. Take the plunge. Become the hero this country needs. Do it for Niniane. Do it for everyone who's been hurt by a society so corrupt that they can't focus on ever looming threat just at the Doorstep. Do It For All Those THat WE ARe STill OUt THERE HURTING!"
"By hurting them myself!?!" He was shouting now, at the once trusted voice. And all at once, the room was silent again. He was standing. When did he get up? Sage placed the rune down on the table. He was so tired, so very tired. And so very angry.
