class 1-E

the assembly was quite simple we were told the rules of the academy and welcomed to the academy after that the older grades got called off into their classes until only one class was left mine.

the vice principal started speaking.

"hello class 1-E your class is where we have put all the more... peculiar and different students those with difficult powers or unique backgrounds not to say that you're weak or strong just that no matter your own personal standing it is best not to piss off any of your classmates"

a wave of silence enveloped the hall basically they gathered all the misfits and difficult students in one class so that they weren't spread out and we could be handled easier if everyone in a class has a unique circumstance fights were less likely to be picked basically.

he continued speaking.

"mister Melion will be your teacher you may recognise him from your exams"

I looked around and noticed that my class had all the people I took the exam with and I looked back at vice principal ferus who continued speaking.

"those people who you took your exams with are your hero team possibly for the rest of your life so be nice we put a lot of thought into everything I will now leave you to your teacher Markus Melion"

markus or rather Mr Melion walked out onto stage and addressed the class.

"as you're all now aware of the situation let me remind you that everyone in this class has special circumstances or backgrounds some big some small so if you were planning on targeting someone in this class for any reason forget about it.

now some rules firstly you may share as much or as little information about your ability as you wish unless of course a staff member directly asks you secondly no unauthorised fighting.

lastly though relationships between peers is tolerated you must fill out a form to legally date another hero or hero trainee.

now that is over please follow me"

we walked to the other side of the school there was the letter E above the building there was only two floors but it looked pretty big on the inside were four class rooms which made sense one for each years hero course and one for each years assistant course.

the classroom had no windows but instead metal sheets where the windows should be Mr Melion gesture for people to sit down so I sat down in the front rightmost desk vex asha sat on the desk next to mine.

once everybody sat down Mr Melion started speaking.

"I will be your teacher for the vast majority of your subjects, I should let you know every class has been told that a classes strength is based off of their alphabetical order A being the strongest E being the weakest.

this is true for all but E and A but we will get to that another time so as you...."

he went on and on explaining every little thing and drew my attention back after he mentioned weapons and costumes so I started listening again.

"we will be making your weapons later this year but for now we have made your trainee hero costumes as you requested during this last week at the end of the classroom are your lockers with your names on them.

inside are your costumes and dorm room key and number meet me back at this classroom at 8 am tomorrow"

with that he disappeared into the shadows and everyone including me rushed towards the lockers it didn't take too long for me to find my locker and open it.

I took out my costume and key with the room number on it and headed straight for the dorms the schools student population was only around 800 since the academy was so hard to get into.

lots of other students were walking towards the dorms just next to me was vex so I started a conversation.

"so vex your a shifter? my dad has a shifting ability"

they looked surprised at the sudden conversation but replied.

"yes i am a shifter please call me ash it feels more comfortable and your what a copy cat?"

I chuckled at the nickname but since she saw me use my power there was no use in hiding it and I replied.

"yes I guess you could call me a copy cat I can't go into specific details because I'm not allowed just know that right now I can or will only temporarily copy abilities"

then they said something unexpected.

"could you copy my ability please?"

I was a bit taken aback but then decided it couldn't hurt.

"umm sure give me your hand please"

they put their hand out and I grabbed it.

as usual I selected yes and temporary I let go of their hand and played with it I made my hand a type of dinosaur claw and my legs a bit longer then I consciously had to revert then I played a bit more and changed my sex.

I grew my blood red hair to shoulder length gave myself a slight curve and softened my already soft features I physically changed my organs the amount of freedom I had to change my body was amazing.

I reverted back and looked over to see ash with a look of shock and devastation as they started speaking.

"it took me years to do all those things at that speed and fluidity years of practice and you were able to grasp it in a few seconds"

I realised I might have gone a bit overboard so I gave a little excuse(lie).

"well I think I get some of the mastery the owner has so it just shows how amazingly you can use your ability"

ash looked a little bit brighter and we continued walking then a question popped into my head ash looked like a girl but with the freedom I just had does it matter what their born as? so I just asked.

"sorry I'd this is a weird question but are you a guy?"

ash was a bit surprised but answered.

"I think I was born a male but I don't think... I've never really thought about it, I guess I don't care just call me anything... hey what is your room number?"

I looked at my room number and showed ash they then showed me their key with the exact same number on it.

looks like I had a roomate.
