Distraction of Desire?

"Ahem! Third Prince…"

Clearing her throat awkwardly, Aylin asked, looking up with a puzzled expression, noticing that Kai was still staring at her with a thoughtful face, "What's wrong?"

"Huh?"

Kai's tight expression relaxed into his usual boyish smile as he assured, "It's nothing… Umm... You are looking pale and very weak, Lin."

Though Kaizer always used to say everything very casually, nowadays, Aylin's heart used to react oddly. She implored him with her eyes as a hot ache grew in her throat.

Suddenly, Kai spoke again, breaking the train of her thoughts, "Well, you still didn't answer my question."

"Huh? Which one?"

"How do you know my mother? You murmured her name numerous times when you were unconscious."

After a little silence, Aylin muttered uneasily, "I- I saw her… in that-"

"Impossible! She died 18 years ago. How can you- Wait! Can you see ghosts?"

"Umh! No no…"
