Su Xue came out of the bathroom wearing a white bathrobe. She took the wine bottle from the table and opened it. She gulped the wine down as she stood in front of the glass window.

'Just three months' Su Xue scoffed.

'Well, I guess the universe has been too lenient with me.'

Su Xue was seven years old when her parents divorced. Her mother left her with her father and got married to another man and started a new family with him. Su Xue didn't know the reason why her mother left her father until she was fifteen years old when she overheard her father having a conversation with one of his friends.

Turns out her mother's family didn't like the fact that Su Xue's father was from a low-class family. They've never accepted him as their son-in-law. They managed to persuade Su Xue's mother to divorce Su Xue's father and leave Su Xue with him. congestive heart failure, arrhythmia, and so on

On Su Xue's sixteenth birthday, Su Xue's father Su Bingtian's heart started beating very fast. He also felt dizzy as well. He was rushed to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called the Dead Heart.

According to the doctor, Su Bingtian's heart was experiencing a variety of different heart conditions. Cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, arrhythmia, and so on. The doctor started giving him some medication to help reduce his symptoms but despite the medication, his condition only worsened. The doctors advised him to go for surgery but he refused. He didn't have enough money and he would rather spend his last two cents on his daughter than perform a surgery that was not even a guarantee that his life would be saved.

Su Xue tried to convince him. but the man was obstinate. Three years later, after battling his heart condition, Su Bingtian died. That year was very difficult for Su Xue. She was mourning the loss of her father while writing her exams. Three months after her father's death, Su Xue coincidentally encountered her grandparents. Turns out her father is the only son of Old Master and Old Madam Su. The Su family is one of the most respected families in the country. The source of the Su family's wealth was mainly investments and other small corporations that they run. They weren't filthy rich like the great five but they could still stand on their own. Su Xuexue was also shocked to find out that she even had grandparents from her father's side. Su Bingtian didn't like to mention them whenever she was having a conversation with him. If she asked, he would just divert to another topic so she never brought it up again. Since they had just lost their only child, Old Madam Su persistently asked Su Xue to move in with them. Su Xue entered the Su family as the third young miss. After finishing high school, Old Master Su sent her abroad to complete her education.
