Emerald Gem Sect
The second round of the leaders portion of the sect competition was starting. Both Orval and his Mother, June, took to the center of the arena. They respectfully bowed to each other, then began.
June, who understood that even though her realm was higher than her sons, knew not to take him lightly. The fact that he has personally risen the power of the entire sect to be on par with any first class sect, was in itself a sign of his power, not to mention each technique they have seen him use was unprecedented.
Knowing all this she began to circulate her qi and used her strongest move. Her power erupted with the pressure of one at the Rebirth Realm and used her technique 'Infinite Descending Palm: Crushing the Heavens.' This move was currently her strongest technique, when mastered to perfection, it could create a palm the would descend upon the heavens and crush them. Unfortunately, she has only achieved some success in the entry level. Normally this is enough to handle anyone at the middle of Rebirth Realm and below, unfortunately for her, Orval is not normal.
Unlike the technique she used in the first round, which manifested a giant palm to cover the sky, there was no sign of a palm or even the technique for that matter. Suddenly, as if the sky was crashing down, an immense pressure began to press down on the arena. It was strong enough to put a small amount of press even outside the barrier around the arena, causing the ones closest to the arena to feel some pressure.
Orval stood there calmly just like he has the entire time. He was very proud of his mother and her success. Looking up at the sky, he could tell, that even though there was no palm, that the sky itself had become her palm.
He just smiled and said "Mother, you have worked hard and succeeded were most would have failed."
A sudden rush of power erupted from Orval's body. As he pointed to the sky he shouted "Infinite Art: Universal God of All Chapter: Control the Sky" The pressure that was originally being released from the sky due to Junes attack, had completely vanished. Orval swiftly brought his finger down. The clouds in the sky formed a giant finger which descended upon June.
She circulated her qi and brought out an artifact shield to defend herself, but it was to no avail, since the finger crushed the shield and pressed down on June, forcing her to the ground.
With this June admitted defeat. All the spectators watched as both competitors left the arena. They were simply speechless. While most believed, that Orval would win, they at least thought it would last for a few exchanges due to the difference in realms. Even though most of the members from the Emerald Gem Sect were surprised, nobody was as shocked as Iris.
Iris, was in the same realm as June. Logically speaking, she knew she could fight someone at the same realm to a stand still and maybe even pull out ahead depending on the experience of the other person. But she knew she would never be able to beat someone at the Rebirth Realm as one sidedly as Orval just did. To make matters worse, he is only in the peak of Nascent Soul.
The thought of this was enough to send shivers down her spine. She then remembered that she may have to compete with him in the sect competition in a few years. This scared and excited her since it would be a great opportunity for her to experience real power that can overwhelm above ones realm.
Before anyone realized it the next match had begun. The Sect Leader Luke and Beast Taming Elder Luna had taken the stage. Luna had already summoned White Fang and armed him. She also already had Noire hiding in the shadows, silently heading towards Luke.
The Sect Leader, stood motionless and expressionless. He looked forward and focused his qi into his right foot and took a slight step forward. With this step a massive amount of Sword Law erupted. Since Luke has been practicing with swords since he was 5 years old, it was not difficult for him to have achieved master of his new sword arts, bringing him only a step away from perfection.
The sword law rushed forward, creating slices in the air. It sliced through the shadows, rendering Noire useless, and shattered the armor on White Fang. It stopped before reaching Luna, but created a massive rush of wind that followed in its path pushing her out of the arena.
It was shocking to everyone to see how fast this battle ended, since Luke didn't even use a technique. Even Orval was surprised by his fathers ability with swords.
It was now time for the final round. Everyone was getting truly excited for this, since both competitors had shown unbelievable skills.
Luke and Oval stood in the center of the arena, neither of them moving an inch. The spectators held their breaths. It was as if time had stopped, both competitors simply staring at each other. A full five minutes passed before a move was made.
When Luke felt a drop of sweat begin to descend from his forehead, he made his move. He circulated his qi. An immense pressure began to form with him at the core. "Infinite Sword Law: Ten Thousand Immortal Swords" shouted Luke.
Immediately following the activation of his technique, ten thousand swords appeared in the space around him. Each sword had the power of a entry level Rebirth Realm expert that had mastered sword law. The power was so intense it was cracking the space inside the arenas barrier.
"Son, although you are powerful, I do not believe you should be able to handle this technique. This is currently my most powerful technique, which could probably topple almost any sect with ease." Spoke Luke, trying to persuade his son to concede defeat.
The audience was shocked by not only the technique displayed but the also the truth in the words spoken by Luke. Duke Glacier and Princess Iris as well, while they knew that most sects could defend against another power that had several Rebirth Realm experts, they would be completely at the mercy of Luke who currently created ten thousand swords each with the power of the Rebirth Realm. Even the Emperor may not stand a chance against this.
Orval just looked on and said "It is a truly magnificent technique, father. Against anyone else I can almost guarantee you would win. Now, let me show you a true sword."
Orval circulated his qi and thought to himself 'Infinite Art: Path of Swords Chapter: Peerless Sword'. A small wisp left his body. It slowly moved forward, until it arrived in front of Luke. The wisp then vanished.
All the onlookers were confused, since nothing happened. Even Luke had a complex look of confusion, since he thought his son would be using a powerful technique.
Suddenly, Luke's ten thousand swords began to shake. The space inside the arena violently shook. Luke looked at Orval, who had his eyes closed and hands clasped behind his back.
Orval began to speak "One sword is nature. Nature is life. Life begets death. Death is predestined. This is the Sword of Nature." He had a chilling tone. As if his words themselves were the words of death.
The ten thousand swords and space stopped shaking. Then the swords dissipated into thin air. With a look of shock Luke dropped to his knees and conceded the match. This made Orval the winner of the leader portion of the competition.
Everyone was still silent due to shock. It was at this moment both Iris and Duke Glacier, realized no matter who did what, Orval was someone nobody should offend.
After everyone recovered from the shocking final match, they began going back to their normal routines. Most disciples had gained some insights during the competition so they went into seclusion. All the leaders went into the pagoda to train further, hoping to grasp at something closer to Orval's level.
Orval brought Iris and Duke Glacier to his residence for a meal, which Susie and Burlesque had made. After the meal both Iris and the Duke left the sect.
Orval thought it over and decided to head into the Nascent Soul Grotto of the pagoda. He touched base with Burlesque and Susie on what to do in case of emergencies while he is inside. He then went to the pagoda and entered the grotto.
Unknown Location on Glass Planet
A decrepit being slowly got out of the coffin. It looked around the the basement. Then in a chilling and deathly voice it spoke "How goes the mission" looking at the man bowing to him.
The man with a bloody aura then spoke "My Lord, the progress has been immense. I have the Lower Fiends tunneling, the Devouring Fiends are getting rid of any issues that arise during the tunneling, and my Blood Fiends are supplying energy the other fiends."
"Hmmm, good, good. What is the status of my descendants." asked the decrepit Lord.
"Yes, your Rot Fiends have stayed idle, as to not attract the attention of the World Creator." informed the Blood Fiend Leader.
"Soon we will make our move. At that time even the World Creator will not be able to do anything to stop us. Hahaha!!" spoke the Rot Fiend Lord in an excited yet icy voice.
