Evaluation

"Adventurer's Evaluation." It was the term they used in this world of how they were going to determine the current rank of certain adventurers.

E+, D, and D+ adventurers were allowed to step into the 5th floor up to the 10th floor in the Nocturn tower. While D+, C, and C+ could go from the 10th floor up to the 15th floor. C+ B, B+ 15th to 25th floor. A, A+, S, and SS+= 26th and 30th floor.

The basic floor in the nocturn tower was the fifth floor since it was the first floor they can see after entering the gate. Also, they thought that the 4th floor down to the 1st floor was even more dangerous than the other floors.

On the next day.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Kai slowly opened up his eyes after he heard someone gently knocking on the door and calling his name. By the tone of her voice, he already knew that was Alexa.

"Kai, you should wake up! Because I'm planning to assist you first to the Adventurer's Headquarters before I go to the infirmary. Are you going to have your evaluation, isn't it?" Alexa asked him in a sweet tone and waited next to the door for Kai to respond.

Well, Alexa was still doing a good thing for Kai. Or to be exact, she was well aware Kai wasn't familiar with the Derenium City. So in her mind, there was a high chance Kai would lose if she doesn't guide him to his destination.

Without making any second thoughts, he pushed himself into a seated position. He then leaned his back on the wall that mildly absorbed the heat given by the sunlight.

"Yes, I'm coming, miss Alexa. I just need a couple of minutes to prepare myself." He responded politely and eventually moved out of the bed.

It's been a while since the last time he was able to take a bath, so he was enjoying all the drops of water in his body. When he finished, he wore the blue long sleeves, gray pants, and the combat shoes provided by Alexa for him.

"She's a woman, so it's impossible for someone like her to have this stuff. I think it's come from his boyfriend." Kai uttered to his mind as he avoided personal questions to Alexa. Aside from that, he should be glad as he has something that he could wear.

After that, he went out of his room and saw Alexa eating at the dining table. He waved his hand at her and greeted her. "Good morning, miss Alexa."

When he approached her, that was also the time Alexa noticed him. "Oh, Good morning, Kai. Come here, join me to eat some breakfast." She invited him.

On the table, he can see newly baked bread, cooked eggs, banana, and fresh milk. "Thank you, Miss Alexa."

Kai was seated on the wooden chair and the two were now facing each other. He took a glance at her, watching how she slowly swallowed the food, and how her throat moved every time she was drinking the fresh milk.

"Hey, Kai! Why are you dumbfounded right now? Come on eat, so we can leave." Alexa waved her hand as she noticed Kai was looking at her for too long.

"Y-Yeah, you're right, miss Alexa. I should eat so we can leave." Kai didn't know how he was going to respond to her knowing Alexa caught him staring at her.

"Why are you so nervous, Kai? There is something bothering you? Also, you can now stop addressing me miss Alexa. Just Alexa it's fine." She said, then continued to eat her food.

"Don't mind me, Miss Alexa-. I mean Alexa, let's just eat."

The two started to eat the delicious breakfast prepared by Alexa. When they got finished, Alexa wanted to eat some dessert so she asked Kai since her hand can't reach it.

"Kai, could you please grab me a banana?" She requested along with her cute voice.

He nodded his head at her without hesitation. "Do you want my banana-? I mean this banana? Which one? The long one or the shorter one?" His face started to red as he almost could make a big mistake.

She raised her brows as Kai was acting weird for some reason. "Of course, the longer one. It looks delicious." She peeled the banana and slowly opened her mouth to bite it.

"Wow..."

"What did you say, Kai?"

He shook his head, then stood up. "Nothing, Alexa. Just wait for me here for a second, I'm just going to clean the tables."

After settling all the important things they needed to do at Alexa's house. Both of them started to leave, heading first to the Adventurer's Headquarters.

While walking, it was inevitable for Alexa to initiate a conversation. "Kai, if you are in the headquarters. I suggest that you should not trust everyone aside from the creature who will take your evaluation."

"Why?" He replied in a perplexed tone.

"Of course, we do not know if they're scheming something. Well, that's only my suggestion, still, it depends on you if you are going to listen to me or not." She smiled at her, then pointed her index finger at the location where the huge establishment can be found and the different creatures entering.

"If you are the one who says it, I should do it. Also, you are better than me, I think listening to you could give me a good outcome."

He smiled back and now started to see the other creatures that utilize different kinds of weapons like a sword, spear, blunt weapon, staff, etc. By simply looking at them, he can easily say that they were stronger than him.

"If you straight that gate, you can see the evaluation section." She spun around as she was now heading to her destination. "I'm going to leave, Kai. Let's just meet again at my house, good luck!"

"Thanks, Alexa! Take care!"

When Alexa vanished because the creatures surrounded her. Suddenly, he noticed some of the creatures were furiously looking at them.

'What are their problems? Did I do something illegal here? Yet, I should not mind them and avoid getting into trouble.' He uttered to his mind, then entered the Headquarters.

Inside, he looked at the surrounding he saw the place was surrounded by numerous golden color thick posts, statues, paintings, and the section where he could see the creatures wearing black and white suits. It seemed they were the practitioners who were assigned to do the evaluation.

"The number of adventurers here is larger than I thought. I should fall in the line."

Kai was positioned in front of the man that had a masculine physique, was two meters tall, had green mohawk hair, and had heavy chains in each hand. Based on his outward appearance and his weapon, Kai guessed this man was specialized in close combat.

The bulky guy took a glance at Kai in the corner of his eyes, so Kai smiled at him and greeted him. "Good day! I hope both of us had a better evaluation."

However, he received a different outcome. This bulky guy was being a jerk to him as he clicked his tongue and said these words.

"Tch! Both of us? Are you making me laugh, kid! All the adventurers here knew that I would get a higher rank, so why don't you just stand there don't talk to me, insect."

Of course, Kai's ears felt irritated after hearing them. However, he tried to calm himself as he doesn't know what would happen to him if he assault someone.

"Okay..."

"I said don't talk to me, insect! Are you deaf or stupid?" The bulky guy whirled around and confronted this man. "If you don't want to be dead meat shut your mouth, understand."

Kai zips his mouth as he doesn't want to draw more attention from the other adventurers gathered in this place. Moreover, he heard someone yelling because he didn't get the rank that he expected.

Why? I'm just a rank F adventurer?! Are you sure that the mana plate is working well?

The man kept yelling at the practitioner, although, it explained that he can come back for the revaluation If he wasn't satisfied with the result.

"I'm already here, it will consume me a lot of time if I fall in line again."

"It's not my problem. Also, you want to have a revaluation, isn't it? So follow the rules if you don't want to not get back here again ever." The practitioner said in a serious tone.

"Don't worry about it, poor guy, the man behind me is worser than you." The bulky guy yelled as he also was talking about Kai.

"Whatever..."

Moreover, the mana plate was the item they were used in the evaluation. By absorbing the mana inside the adventurer's body, it can help to clarify the exact rank of the adventurers.

"Next!" The practitioner called another adventurer which was the bulky guy.

"Look at me, I'll show you the difference between our ranks!" The bulky guy said confidently.

"Hey!" Kai called him as he was really now irritated with this man.

"What is it? Do you want to die?" The bulky guy asked.

"Wait, I want to give you something." Kai put his hand inside the pocket, pretending that he was getting something.

"Hurry! It's my turn!"

As soon as Kai took his hand out of the pocket. He raised his middle finger toward the guy and had a malicious smile on his face. "This one is for you, piggy! Enjoy it."

"You... I'm going to kill you!"
