[A/N : Thank you for waiting. This chapter got corrupted, and I have too much thing to do since I'm about to graduate.]
As soon as the barrier had shattered, Arthur flew holding his sword on his hand and tried to slash Roche off.
"Roooooooche!!"
Clang-!
Before his sword could even touch Roche's face, Roche impassively blocked his attack by turning his whole arm into metal.
"Roche! How dare you!!!"
Crack-!
"!!"
Noticing that his metal arm began cracking, Roche redirected Arthur away by making his sword slide past though from hand to his elbow before following up with a punch that sent Arthur away.
"Gah!" Roche hit him on his stomach with full force and enhancement. Arthur spew out blood from his mouth as he flew over and hit the wall.
"Arthur!" Lumine hurriedly hopped down to the center and helped Arthur get up. She took a brief glance to where Roche is, and saw him being apprehended by the teachers.
"Arthur.... You must die...." Roche mumbled under his breath. The teacher that was on top of him heard this as he glanced toward Arthur's direction, seemingly confused.
"Stay down, chil-!?"
"Haaa!"
The teacher around him was immediately thrown away after Roche forcefully stood up. He pushed his body from the ground as he enhanced his strength even more with mana.
Tong-!
Shiek!
Creak-!
When Roche was finally able to stand in both of his feet, he covered his body with metal.
Creak-!
Clang-!
Triiiieek-!
Roche's uniform was shredded after his transformation. His, from properly combed, hair were now disheveled before turning into a spiky iron that look almost similar to a hedgehog.
Slowly, he lost himself as he now look like a metal monster that had sharp teeth and long claws.
"Roooooaaar!!!" Roche roared loudly like a dragon that produces a massive shockwave imploded. His roar demolished the floor around him and even glass from above all shattered. After the dust settled, the teachers was trying to look for him as it didn't see a trace of him.
"Where did he--"
Drip-
The professor looks down at his body after noticing something drip out his body.
"!!?"
Splurt-!
When he saw the big hole in his chest, that had his blood leaking out like a fauset, he fell on his knees before dropping on the ground.
The teachers went silent for a second before letting out a reaction.
The teachers near the professor who had died, began chanting a spell to clear out the fog with his light magic.
"Oh, light. Please guide thy thee from this inevitable salvation." He raises his hand above his head, "Grant us your light as we follow through our fate as your firm believer. The light of guidance."
[Target Of Light]
Suddenly, a ray of sunshine fell from the sky.
Foooooooooooosh-!!!!!
It was as if thousands of floodlights were aimed at one person. And at the center of this spotlight, Roche, who was in his monstrous form, raised his three meter claws to shield himself from the light, that could melt any normal person.
"There he is!" One of the teacher rushed towards Roche while clenching his fist for a strong punch.
"Haaaaaaaa!!!" His gauntlet suddenly tightened. Veins started to appear in his whole arm as he punched Roche straight in his chest.
Unfortunately, Roche noticed this on time and used his mouth to bite the professor's whole arm off.
"Professor!" One of his co-workers slashed his sword towards Roche.
With his strong metal jaws, he ate the whole arm before turning his attention to the other professor to grab and pull him close. He grabbed his neck before slamming him hard on the ground, then lifted his body up to use it like a shield against the light.
"Gaah!" The professor screamed after feeling the agonizing pain of being being burned to crisp.
As for the professor who had summoned the rays of light, he immediately deactivated his magic in fear that he might accidentally kill one of his group.
"You--!!?" Without even having any time to react, Roche reappeared in front of the professor and grabbed his face, and effortlessly crushing his skull as if he was crumbling a piece of paper.
Crack!
Thud-!
Roche let go of him after a few second. He then turned his attention to where Arthur and Lumine is and found out that they were missing.
"He must die....." His voice doubles as he spoke. He sounded menacing, that became more great when combined with his monstrous look.
Dropping the dead body, that he used as an umbrella to cover himself from the rays of sunlight from earlier, he took a deep breath before letting out a loud roar that c in ciuld be heard in fhe whole academy.
.....
Earlier, while Roche was distracted committing a massacre, Lumine helped Arthur walk by letting his arm rest her's. The two walked across the corridor.
"Arthur... Does it still hurt?" She asked worriedly with teary eyes as she let him lean on her closer as they continue. Though normally she would be embarrassed by this situation, but with the current situation on hand, she ignored her feelings and treat Arthur like how a doctor treat a patient.
Coughing out blood in his mouth, Arthur replied with a weak nod of his head, "I'm fine..." He said, placing his other hand to the wall to support himself and Lumine as they walk.
"You're clearly not okay!!" Lumine raises her voice with a pout. Arthur just brushed this off before stopping to lean his back on the wall to take a break from walking.
"This should be far enough, no?" He asked himself before turning his attention back to Lumine. With a smile, he thanked her for her help.
Lumine blushed when she saw him smiling before realizing that it was not the time for that. She cleared out her throat and leaned her forehead to the wall.
"Alicia.... She's dead. The teachers who tried to help her... They're all dead, too." Saying this, a tear suddenly fell from the side of her eyes as she bit her lips to prevent herself from crying even more.
"Why is this happening...?"
This was the first time she saw someone died before her eyes.
"Why would Roche do something like that?"
She was confused. She had already met him in the past, and although he was arrogant like many nobles of her kingdom, he was not the kind of person that would willingly kill someone just because he lost a match.
"They..."
Arthur didn't let her finish her sentence as he hugged her. Though Lumine was confused by sudden turned out event, she grit her teeth and clenched her hands on his clothes as she continue to cry.
"Waaaa!"
"...."
Feeling that his clothes started getting wet from her tears, he indiffently stroked the back of her head and let her cry her tears out.
"Why did h-he d-d-do that?" Lumine stuttered as she spoke.
"I don't know... I don't know." Arthur responded silently. His eyes focused outside the window, to where the direction of the arena is.
Like Lumine, he was confused by the sudden event.
This has never happened in times of his regression in the past.
This was the first time he saw Alicia died before the others.
What is happening? This was the only question that popped out in his mind.
𝘐𝘴 𝘩𝘦... 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬?
When this thought came in his mind, Arthur's back began to sweat hard even though the day was cold since it was still around 1 O clock.
𝘐𝘧 𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴... 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯. He swore in his heart, bitting his lower lips until it bleed.
By the time, Lumine raises her head to look at him in the eyes, she noticed the strange coldness and indifference his face was showing as he look outside.
"Arth-!!?"
Rumbles~~!!!
Suddenly, she felt a strong quake that almost made them lose their balance.
"Lumine!" When she was about to lose her balance, Arthur pulled her from her waist as he penetrated his fingers to the wall, so that he can grab onto something to support theirselves.
When the earthquake finally stopped, Arthur hurriedly walk forward and opened the window. What he saw next made his whole spine tremble.
"No way... They're doing it now?"
Seeing hundreds of portal appearing in the sky, Arthur begun to panic.
Why...?
[Arthur, I could sense few strong presence in one of the portal in the sky.]
'What?' he asked the system.
[It was... The strong presence came from the people from another world!!?]
Arthur clicked his tongue when he heard this. He went to Lumine and took her hand, and forcefully ran through the corridor even with his fatigue body before entering his room.
"A-Arthur, what are we doing here?" Confused by his suddenness, Lumine blinked her eyes a couple of times before looking around.
"I'm just going to grab something. It'll be quick." He said, running off without adding any kind of explanation and opening his closet.
"Art-What!?" When she saw Arthur pulled something and heard a clicking sound inside his closet as he took out a sword that was hidden from the side of the closet, she was shocked.
Why does that sword looks familiar...? Lumine questioned herself silently. She then proceeds to turn her attention back to Arthur, who was cleaning the sword's blade using a clean cloth that he picked up from the table.
"Arthur... What's the name of that sword?"
When he heard her question, Arthur flinched.
At the same time, his system spoke.
[Why did you even brought her here...?]
He took a deep breath and placed his sword back to it's scabbard before attaching it onto his waist.
"This sword... Umm, er... Eπta....." Arthur said as his voice lowered by the end of his sentence. Taking a quick glance at Lumine's direction, he imagined her reaction being shocked or perhaps, upset for hiding something like this from her.
However.
"Eπta... Sounds cool."
Surprisingly, Lumine didn't found out what Eπta truly was even though it's name should be popular in the castle since it was engraved in the tomb of the First Generation Hero, who was the founder of the Arcanian Kingdom.
"Yeah..." Arthur nodded his head weakly with a tired smile. Thankfully, Lumine was the kind of person who find subjects like history annoying. She would most likely forget about the topic that was taught to her a day after it was taught.
Lumine was a bit confused from his reaction but later ignored this after hearing a big explosion outside.
"The portals!!" Arthur hurriedly opened the window, then hopped down. She remained confused but after a quick moment, she shouted.
"You forgot about me!!"
