Drugged

Like I predicted, you were there, leaning against your car, smoking and smiling. You were probably laughing at something you remembered one of your clients say.

'Jacob!' I called out.

You turned around and frowned. It was almost like that's how you enjoyed looking at me. With this frown on your face that suggested I was a pest.

'Kassy, did Rose not tell you I went out for coffee?' You laughed.

Of course you knew I knew you better than that.

'She did, but I thought you'd be here. This is the kind of coffee you like.' I pointed at the lit cigarette between your fingers.

You looked at them too. I hated the fact that you were a smoker. I had begged you to quit on multiple occasions but you kept telling me you needed to release stress someway.

I remember recommending a therapist but you laughed it off and said they'd only take your money because you knew exactly what they were going to say.
