A Letter From Kassy

'I have to go, Alicia. Give a kiss to Kolin for me.'

The line went off.

Kolin was running a fever and Albert had sent me an email about how I had missed work so much and I was on probation.

There was no way for me to put Kolin in the daycare because I needed to monitor him.

My colleague, Anna, was the best person ever, she was ready to do my work so I could look after Kolin. I appreciated all her effort, but I was tired of passing my burden to anyone else.

'Alicia, I think you should talk to Albert about everything. I'm sure he'll understand and give you some more time off.' Anna said.

'I don't want my family problems to stand in the way of my job and I need some kind of distraction.'

The day went by very slowly. There was little to nothing to do at the office, but the clock took its time to tick.

Frank called me to tell me mum moved her body, and the doctors call it a great sign. That was what I wanted to hear.
