At first, I wanted to say, 'I thought you'd never ask.' But I settled with:

She took me outside the room to the balcony.

'I know I should have told you, or at least had your family tell you before now but Amber is going to live with you for a while.' She said.

'I know that now, Amber already told me, but I really want to know why you've been avoiding me.' 

I knew I was not ready to know her answer but it was going to be better for me than being stuck in the dark.
