Bryan's Story

'If it makes you feel any better, I didn't know my dad for ten whole years. He left when I was nine and returned when I was nineteen. Sometimes I wonder what my teenage life would have been like had he not left.' 

'You'll probably not have a kid now and we won't be here, walking under a starless sky so I'm guessing it was good he left?'

'Tell me, how did you get to the U.S?' I was interested in his life story.

It was at that moment I realized that everyone I meet has a story to tell. I knew that people were a lot more than just the surface.

'Well, my mum found the love of her life. He made things better and treated me like his own. At some point, I forgot he was not my biological father because he treated me like a son.'

'He was the one that fought for my mother and me to come here. Well, my mother had always been coming to have her children. She got married to this man when I was five and when I turned seven, they had their first kid.'
