Chapter forty nine

Carter's pov

I knew something was wrong the minute she came downstairs looking distraught, she tried to hide it but she was not good at hiding her emotions, it has always been like that right from when I knew her.

Everything she feels has always been evident on her face, I didn't want to coax her into telling me what the matter was but I suspect it had something to do with her night out. Those girls were poison and no matter how much I tried to tell her, she didn't listen.

I was surprised when she told me she was going to hang out with them, I thought she had already given up on the fact that she would never be like them. But I suspect she went there for another reason. She came in last night and I expected her to come straight to my room, our room but she surprised me by going straight to her room. I was tempted to approach her but I held myself.
