Chapter ninety six

Dermot's pov

Morning came faster than expected, the sun was coming in through the windows. It wasn't harsh enough to make me close the windows but it made me regret waking up so early.

I was so exhausted, being pregnant wasn't easy at all. It made me want to go through these nine months so fast just so I could get this baby out of me.

I looked to my side and sighed, Carter must have left early for work. He was determined to keep me here.

The conversation from last night echoed in my head. We fought about me going to work today, I didn't realize it was a big deal to him till he said it out loud.

We were seated at the dining table enjoying our meal. Everything was normal till he blurted that I shouldn't come to work today, I had dropped my fork making it clatter on the plate.

"What?" I asked,

"You heard me, take today off." He said without looking up.

Good for him, my glare alone should have burned him to the ground.
