CHAPTER 28

The carriage gently swayed from side to side under the influence of the potholes. The black horses attached to it couldn't care less as they continued their journey with the coachman giving them directions.

Inside the carriage and close to the window, sat a woman whose lips were turned up in an intricate smile as her eyes critically took in every scene that passed by. Just like her features, her hair was perfectly styled to the middle of her head so that not one strand was out of place. There wasn't much to look at but the little she saw, she thought they were beautiful. She removed her hand out of the window to feel the gentle evening breeze that did wonders in soothing her skin.

When the coachman announced their arrival at their destination, her eyes lit up the same way her smile brightened. She thanked the coachman after he helped her down the carriage and set her luggage beside her. He handed him a bag of coins, "I will reach out to you once I am done."
