CHAPTER 44

"Alright, alright. You are not a duck." Prince Lucien agreed after stopping himself from laughing. "Then Little Penelope, can you tell me why do you hate your uncle so much?"

"...Penelope doesn't hate uncle Ronald." she replied and avoids his gaze.

"Little girl, I'm pretty sure the young duke is teaching you that lying is bad." Prince Lucien said with a smile.

Of course, her father is always telling her that lying is bad. He is set to teach her all the good things in this world and always wishes for her to grow up to be a good little girl. But there are still a few things that Penelope cannot say to her father. Just like her past life.

The little girl can already imagine the hurt expression on her father's face if she tells him about her past experiences. She knows how much he treasures her. Penelope doesn't want to make her father sad. Just like him, she wants to see her father happy all the time.
