CHAPTER 59

Penelope tried explaining herself but the noble lady doesn't want to listen to her. Thinking that Penelope did not receive enough punishment, the noble lady decided to humiliate her in the street where a lot of people were passing by. The lady told them to beware of her because she is a thief and a person they cannot trust so easily. When she had enough, the noble lady kicked her one last time and left the street.

After that incident, the people slowly left the scene as their interests had disappeared too. No one tried to help the little girl who was curling her small body on the streets. Instead of help, what she got were the people's sneers and mocking words. Some even said she deserved it.

With the help of other children in the street, they brought Penelope into the alley and tried to offer her some water. They tried to comfort her and told her to forget what happened. But how can she do that? Penelope was beaten up and suffered injustice.
