CHAPTER 88

While thinking about the gathering, Clementine noticed that his daughter is avoiding the usual snacks she eats every afternoon. She only took one sweetened bread and did not even put a jam on it. He's very sure Penelope complained that she is very hungry after taking her exam.

 

"Why aren't you eating your favorite desserts?" Clementine gently asked.

 

"...I just don't feel like eating it today." the girl replied while avoiding her father's gaze.

 

"Loupie." Clementine calls her. He knows that his daughter is hiding something from him.

 

Penelope looks at her father and pouts her lips. Knowing how attentive her father is, hiding a secret from him is a very hard task. After contemplating for a moment, Penelope finally asked her father a serious question.

 

"Daddy." Penelope calls him.

 

"Hmm? What is it?" Clementine asked while stirring his tea with a silver teaspoon.

 

"Am I fat?"
