CHAPTER 128

When Clementine finished his story, Penelope's eyes are filled with tears. He already expected it to happen. So Clementine stands up and gets a soft towel that he can use to wipe his daughter's face. He gently wipes the tears staining Penelope's face before patting her head.

"Dad..." Penelope calls him. "Are you now okay?"

Clementine pause for a moment before he smiles at Penelope.

"At first, I am not okay at all. But the pain slowly disappears after several years. The memories that I have with your mother are something I will always treasure in my heart. Most importantly, those memories are no longer painful for me every time I think about it." Clementine slowly replied.

At first, their memories are painful for Clementine to remember. They were just making him miss her presence more. There were also times when he asked himself with questions that no one can answer.
