Raivolka

The air in the forest grew denser and pungent like the burnt smell, though there was no trace of fire at all. The smell that covered the forest scared the animals, running as far as possible from the smell that could harm them.

This smell has polluted the village. The water source that was clean and clear was surprisingly black in one night. It becomes thick and smells bad.

Villagers reported this to city guards, but their complaints are not answered. The son of the Asberion family is the only one interested and intends to investigate this matter himself. Of course, with a fee that will make his name famous.

The House of Asberion is a well-known noble family in Winfor. All great knights were born from this family, one of which was the hero who had nicknamed The Red Fang. Their power as Elemagnia can't be underestimated. Even the Magnolia Empire recognized their fighting abilities.

Every descendant of Asberion has their own story, no one doesn't. Their role is recorded in every history for hundreds of years. Every single story is engraved, the more the Asberion family is seen in the eyes of the people. The higher the expectations of society.

People's views on the Asberion family are getting higher, indirectly creating an unwritten rule for the owners of that name. A law that has become an obligation, so mandatory that anyone who doesn't do it will get something worse than death.

"The Asberions who have no role and story of their own will be a failure, humiliation, and great sin in history, a wound that cannot be healed."

That's what motivated Reinhard to investigate the matter that the city guards didn't respond to. He didn't want to be a failed Asberion. He didn't want to be the first Asberion that didn't have a story to tell.

To make up his own story, Reinhard finally came to the forest with his friend, Ulfang.

Ulfang himself comes from the House of Ruishorn. They believe that power is above all. However, they never beat Asberion in any way. Knowing that defeating Asberion was impossible, they decided to ally themselves with Asberion. That way, no one would dare to take them down.

In the forest, Reinhard and Ulfang followed the foul air that led them to a river. As the villagers said, the river was polluted with some kind of black liquid.

"What do you think it is?" Reinhard poked at the liquid with a stick.

"It's like ink. Maybe a giant squid?" guessed the man with the hair in a ponytail, like the other Ruishorns.

"It can't be a squid, it must be something else," rebut Reinhard.

"What if not?"

Reinhard got up and looked into his friend's doubtful eyes, "You don't believe me, Ulfang? It's time to prove myself as Asberion. I don't want to miss this opportunity. If you don't want to help me, just leave. Nothing stands in your way."

Ulfang will not leave. Their togetherness all this time would not make Ulfang just ignore him. He also has ambitions of his own. By helping his friend, the name Ruishorn could also stand side by side with Asberion above.

Reinhard used his wind element to search for a more intense odor, which he thought was the source of this pollution. While following the direction of the wind, they followed the river.

The more the smell reached the tip of their nostrils, the thicker and darker the river was polluted. The source of all these smells and liquids was lying in the river. A large creature with spiky black fur. The large body cut off the flow of the river.

"What is that creature?" Ulfang whispered, not wanting to let the creature know of their existence.

"Don't know." Reinhardt walked slowly towards the creature.

Ulfang stops him. He gripped Reinhardt's shoulders. "We'd better get back to the city first. We don't know what that creature is."

"If you're scared, forget about making your family name shine. I'll do it alone."

Reinhard summoned a wind in his palm and prepared. Even though they were so close, the creature didn't move. Reinhard and Ulfang finally realized that the black liquid was the blood of the dead creature.

They tried to see more clearly the creature. A figure looks like a giant wolf with six eyes. Its claws and fangs are bigger than ordinary wolves. There was a spear stab wound in his neck, possibly causing the creature to die. They wondered, who killed the creature?

After Reinhard and Ulfang found the corpse of the monster, they returned to the city and reported it. The uproar in the city caused by the king and his knights was due to this matter.

King Heistiar was walking in the city at the time, getting some fresh air before the soldiers gave him some shocking news.

Winfor has four gods who are tasked with dealing with very dangerous threats, one of which is a creature that Reinhard and Ulfang found. And, there is not only one creature, and no human can kill it.

Mentioned in historical records, that creature named Raivolka. A monstrous wolf-like monster that ruled Winfor long before the Four Wind Gods came. They live at the bottom of the abyss of darkness guarded by Nous. And now, somehow, they were free.

Raivolka shouldn't have been able to wander so close to the settlement. The gods should have prevented the creature from sneaking out of the darkness. This task only the gods can do. But, as the soldiers said, the god in charge of restraining the creature didn't exist.

The king panicked and was confused because this shouldn't be a task for humans. The only decision he could make was to wait. However, the question is, how long to wait?

Raivolka wouldn't wait patiently in the dark while the gods finished them off one by one. With an instinct for domination, they soon will crawl out of the abyss of darkness and devour all life like in the past.
