Deafening silence occupied Eloria's tent for the next few seconds but for Hemeri who was waiting for Commander Eloria's response the whole time, it felt like hours.
"Trust in you?" Eloria quietly asked him after more than a minute and softly chuckled. "Don't bother, Your Highness; because I never trust anyone."
He was a bit startled by her sudden change in demeanor but he did not show it that much. "I am like that too, Commander," he said; sounding calm and patient. "But you know, there can always be an exception." Without waiting for her response, he turned his back on Eloria and walked out of the tent.
Eloria Camer stood still for a while before she walked to the table behind her. Halting before the table, she put both her palms there and slightly bent down while narrowing her eyes. Though her face was hard to read like always, many different things that crossed her mind gave her a difficult time!
