Chapter 29 The Evils Altar

"Sir, you can't handle this!"

Clenching his fists, Ethan returned to Freya and said firmly.

The expression on Levi's face changed, and his eyes became unusually serious.

"Did those monsters do it?"

The invasion of goblins and the appearance of the shadow snake all made him feel more and more uneasy.

The villa looked strange.

What was more, he felt the most uneasy.

If it weren't for the fact that the residents here still believed in Levi that he could solve the problem of the villa, it would have caused chaos in the city.

"Yes!"

Ethan had nothing to hide.

"It was those monsters. No, to be exact, they were the leaders behind them."

Levi asked, frowning.

"I wonder if you know the identity of them."

"I have some clues."

Ethan turned to look at Freya, who nodded slightly.

"I found some clues from the goblin tribe. When I rescued those women, I found that the goblin tribe seemed to be making a sacrifice. They seemed to want to summon some existence who can give them powerful strength."

Ethan said cautiously in case of exposing more information.

It was not that Ethan didn't confess, but that the information couldn't let the people in this city know too much.

It wouldn't be a good thing for him to know too much about it.

"Sacrifice?"

Levi sighed.

The most terrible scene in this villa was to sacrifice humans as sacrifices to a horrible altar that they did not know.

If it weren't for the fact that Grover had participated in the siege of the shadow snake last night, he would have taken Ethan and Freya as suspects.

"In the innermost part of this place is an altar, where the whole family is regarded as sacrifices."

Hearing what Levi had said, Freya suddenly requested to go in and have a look.

After hesitating for a while, he finally nodded in agreement with Freya's request.

"Freya, you are not in good health. Don't push yourself too hard."

Ethan said in a low voice as he held Freya's arm.

"No. It's just that the aura is affecting me. I've already seen those scenes."

Before Levi noticed the conversation between the two, Freya whispered in Ethan's ear.

"I have destroyed three altars when I was investigating Audrey."

Seeing that Freya was so persistent, Ethan could not continue to stop her.

But he also followed Freya to the altar hidden in the depths of the villa.

"Let me lead the way!" Levi said.

The closer she got to the altar, the paler Freya's face became.

That unsettling aura even made Ethan panic.

Ethan looked up and found that the clothes of the police chief, who was leading the way, had already been wet with sweat.

He also held on in this increasingly ominous and uneasy atmosphere.

"We are very lucky."

Even though it made people feel uneasy, Freya still noticed the difference in the ominous atmosphere.

"This sacrifice seems to have failed."

"Failed?"

Ethan's eyes changed and he looked around subconsciously.

"Over there. There should be a rune under the table. But it was not activated."

Freya pointed at the table on the right hand of Levi.

The latter immediately bent down and quickly and carefully examined it.

"There is indeed a strange pattern. But the color is dim. It should be like what Miss Freya said that the pattern is not activated."

Although Levi didn't know much about the evil rune, he could still judge whether the evil rune was activated from its appearance.

"It's a blessing in misfortune."

Freya stepped forward, walked to the table, took out an arrow, aimed at the position of the pattern, and suddenly exerted force.

"Pfft!"

The sharp arrowhead instantly pierced through the table that was thick enough for two fingers and destroyed the rune below it.

This shocking scene made Levi's pupils shrink involuntarily.

That white and slender arm had such a terrifying force. With just an arrow, she pierced through the two-finger thick table?

Freya's casual action overturned the impression of her being sickly and weak as soon as she entered the villa.

"Now, they can't use this altar for the time being. If possible, I hope that when we go back, Levi can send someone to destroy this altar."

After a pause, a trace of determination appeared in Freya's eyes.

"The best way is to burn it with fire without leaving any trace."

"With fire?"

After hesitating for a while, he finally shook his head.

"This is the center of the community. It will have a huge impact if we burn it."

"In addition to using fire, you should be able to use some other relatively violent strength."

Ethan made a gesture with his hands, and then Levi's eyes lit up.

In addition to using fire, there were other ways to destroy this place.

For example, there was a riot caused by mobs here. And then a fierce battle occurred with the people led by Levi.

Freya meant to destroy this place.

But the method was not limited to using fire.

"Well, if you can use the weapon that the man used last night, you can indeed destroy this place."

After thinking for a while, Freya agreed with Ethan's suggestion.

He had made up his mind to destroy this place.

But Freya still wanted to know what was going on.

In front of them was a wooden door that isolated the altar from this world.

If one pushed it away, he would see the hell!

When the faint light entered the hell, what appeared in front of Ethan was the wooden table in the center of the room.

Around the wooden table, there was a whole ring shape, surrounded by a variety of huge black brown patterns of runes.

And what surrounded this huge dark brown ring was a corpse that was placed on the wooden table.

Broken clothes.

From the face, scars spread all over his body.

The dagger pierced his chest.

And his panic and despair face.

"The dark brown ring must have been drawn with victims' blood."

Covering his nose with his hand, Levi told the truth that even the field exploration staff couldn't bear.

Most of the exploration workers who entered the scene of the case couldn't bear the strong impact. They were extremely uncomfortable and even overreacted.

Now, they had been sent to the hospital for treatment.

"This is an altar that can communicate with a certain evil. And after paying a considerable price, it can make the evil descend an avatar."

Freya moved her eyes from the corpse on the wooden table to the right.

There were two dead bodies there.

They were all women.

They were both naked.

Red marks spread all over their bodies from their faces.

Both of them suffered a lot before they died.

Freya saw the despair and pain of the two women before they died.

Perhaps, they were the sacrifices that summoned the avatar of the evil!

Ethan saw the left side of the wooden table.

There was a wooden frame.

On the wooden frame, it was a man whose hands were tied up and hung high.

His clothes were ragged and his body was covered with irregular scars.

Some wounds were cut by a knife.

Some wounds are caused by a blunt weapon.

And there were also scalded wounds with hot objects.

Those wounds were the most terrifying punishments in the world.

Marks were left on his body over and over again.

However, the most terrible scars were on the two women that Freya saw!

Ethan saw the man even though he had been tortured to death, his eyes and his face were still heading for the two women.

It was as if he was glaring at the brutal intruders. He wished he could turn into the most horrible demon in the world and tear them up!

Ethan closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down.

"Are you okay, Ethan?"

At this time, Freya's soft voice came to his ears. And the familiar temperature of Freya's hand came through.

"Well, I'm fine. I just feel a little uncomfortable."

Ethan opened his eyes slowly and his expression gradually became calm.

This was an impact.

This was also a lesson.

No matter how much information Freya had said about Audrey's proposal, it couldn't be more shocking than this time.

"Let's go back!"

"Don't you need to check it again?"

Freya shook her head.

"No need! Just as I said, it's a blessing in misfortune. The people who set up this place are newbies."

"What? Newbies?"

Levi was shocked.

"Yes. The rune is the evidence."

Freya mentioned the rune that had not been activated just now again.

Confused, Levi followed Ethan and Freya out of the villa.

It was not until the three of them stood at the gate of the villa that Levi said slowly.

"Miss Freya, are you sure it's a newbie?"

"Well, it's very likely."

Freya nodded slightly but didn't mean to go on.

Levi nodded knowingly.

"That's all for today. Next, we'll deal with this place. Thank you!"

"Well, we're leaving now! Sir."

After leaving the community, the two of them did not speak but kept silent. They walked to the forest outside the city.

It was not until they stepped into the forest that Freya raised her hand and summoned a little sprite. She set a mute and a hidden enchantment. Then, she slowly breathed a sigh of relief.

"It seems that the newbies did it!"

Then, Freya raised her head and looked around, trying to find the sprites scattered around.

"It's not Audrey's idea. But it has something to do with her."

"Did those monsters who work for her do this?"

Ethan thought about it carefully. But he didn't remember that there were any other traces of non-human creatures around the villa.

In other words, there was only one possibility left.

"Well, Audrey might have recruited some of you to serve her."

Freya recalled the fight with Audrey, and then recalled what she had seen just now.

"This is her usual style. Every time she arrives in a new city, she will always quickly gather a group of people to serve her. I'm afraid this is the reason why she didn't appear last night. Instead, she drove the diabolic bat race to rescue the shadow snake."

The more Freya thought about it, the more likely she felt it was.

The size of the altar was not something that ordinary newbies could arrange casually.

She guessed that when the altar was set up, Audrey might be commanding nearby.

But a new question appeared

"But they have missed that rune. If Audrey was commanding nearby, would she ignore this?"

"I don't know. But at least, the altar was not activated."

A hint of caution flashed through Freya's eyes.

"Let's take it as a declaration of war!"
