Damsel in Distress

Sybil felt her heart skip at Andrius’ words. There was nothing she would like more than spending uninterrupted time with him, together, but there was something else on her mind.

“You’re still hurt, aren’t you?” she asked.

The smirk dropped from Andrius’ face and he sighed as he looked across from them at the fire. The flames flickered and Sybil could only assume that Andrius was using his abilities to make the fire move exactly how he wanted it.

Sybil waited for him to answer, but when he didn’t, she asked, “How bad is it?”

“The doctor says that based on the bruising I have that I might still be bleeding on the inside of my body. There’s not much we can do but wait to see if I’ll be fine or not,” Andrius answered with a straight face.

Even though he tried to keep the emotions from his face, Sybil could tell that it was something that worried him. If there was one thing Andrius hated, it was when things weren’t in his control.

“Have you already forgotten?” Sybil asked.
