In the Village, Mi-sun was about to leave to catch her flight early the next morning. Her cell rang and after seeing who it was, she picked up.
"Someone did come after him. They were small fry though. I think they thought it was going to be an easy abduction and using Crodicals would get the job done as they are not that easy to detect."
Miss Park said. Mi-sun smiled.
"That is good. With this, I do not have to lie to Mrs. Lee. It is high time she joined her husband in England and leave Son-join to my care for a year and a half."
Mi-sun said, still smiling.
"I shall be there in two days. Please keep them safe for me until then and tell the boy everything he needs to know."
"Do not worry, we have been looking after Nolamine for all those years after all. Taking care of beasts and their masters is better than making gang members disappear."
Miss Park said and Son-join had a chill down his spine. The way that she said those words was chilling and sexy at the same time. He cursed the gods for being born later in life. His mind raced as he tried to connect two and two together after hearing about them being somehow responsible for the gang's disappearance.
Mrs. Lee was just out of it at this point. She was looking at Mr. Woo's bald head, not knowing what to make of what happened or what to tell Mr. Lee.
Miss Park dropped the call and they took some things and went to Mi-sun's apartment. With the Lord of the land's mark left there, there were no beasts that would dare come near it.
All they had to worry about were dark witches and other malevolent people who could withstand the pressure of the mark, but that would be powerful individuals.
Still, the apartment building was the safest place for them as it already had several members of the Organization guarding it and waiting for the Lord of the land's mark to fully materialize.
Next to Mi-sun's apartment, the apartment that the old hag was in and that the lightning had struck in, flowers were beginning to sprout as greenery filled the room. Where the lightning had struck, the concrete was giving out a brilliant light that sparkled and it had turned into stone.
Over the months, the residents of the building had been evicted with compensation, and well-built males and females that looked like athletes were now leaving there. They were of different nationalities but their demeanor was like that of trained soldiers.
Back to the village, Mi-sun had finished saying her goodbyes as she went to get a new disciple for Fourth since she was the only one without one now. Even though Son-join did not share her ability, she was the only one out of the other four that could train any of the students without compromising their growth, though she could not use their abilities.
'Mmmm, Curse Weaving? It has been over 300 hundred years since we had a disciple capable of such an ability. If he is competent, he might be able to wield power more powerful than Fifth's Curse Manifestation.'
She thought as she watched Mi-sun drive away. She then went to the Grand Witch's hut to take some stone tablets with the name 'Curse Weaving' written on the top of them.
'This is crazy!!!'
Son-join thought to himself. He was experiencing what had happened to Nolamine twice already. First, on the day of the storm, and second, on the day of his farewell celebration.
Son-join was having information shaved into his brain with events happening all at once. The only saving grace was that it was Miss Park who was telling him all he needed to know.
He had gone into the room next door to where they were staying and the apartment looked like nothing he had seen before. Foreign plants and flowers he never knew existed were growing there and he could swear that the people around picking the flowers and plants were witches or had something to do with that.
Mi-sun arrived only to find him bedridden out of too much happening at once to him. Miss Park could swear that he was doing it on purpose so that he could just chill for that day.
Mi-sun was amazed at how Mrs. Lee was accepting of everything. She told her that her husband had believed in the supernatural world but she had thought it was something she herself would never come to believe in.
She did not even need to persuade her to leave Son-join into her care as she just said it was 'ok'.
"If my boy has such an ability, then I would like him to use it to protect himself in a world that has so many people dying from such things."
She said, referring to what she saw in her kitchen the other night. The fact that women and children were being taken by what she saw made her want her son to have the means to fight such a thing if needs be. Protecting others would come naturally to him, she thought.
Mi-sun could not have been happier. They booked two flights for the next day. One for her to go to England and the other for her and Son-join to South Africa.
"Do you sense them?"
Miss Park asked Mi-sun during the night as they stood outside. They were looking at a building at a distance away from them.
"I sensed them as soon as I got off the bus. It was a good thing that you did not go looking for the one who sent those Crodicals for Son-join, otherwise, even though they all seem not to be strong, you would have been ambushed."
Mi-sun said.
"I know, they might even have someone stronger shadowing them. Who do you think sent them?"
"I do not know. But only I, you, and Mr. Woo knew about his ability after Nolamine told me and I asked you two to keep an eye on him. The only other one was the old hag. It is safe to say that she is the one who sent them."
"With how powerful I think she is, having had been marked by the lord of this land must have limited her options. Anyone who is under her or her ally cannot come here or it would be a direct challenge to the lord of the land."
Miss Park said.
"I guess we are lucky. But, I still fail to understand why even with limited options she would ask someone with such inferior familiars?"
Mi-sun said as she turned to go back in and go to sleep.
"Awe, you two are going to sleep already? I have some wine and strawberries dipped in chocolate here."
A man said as he made his way towards them. He was French in every way, with a mustache and buttoned-down shirt like he was a middle-aged model. His chest was hairy as a beast's.
Mi-sun vanished like she was never there. Only the sound of a door closing was heard after the two could not see her.
Miss Park laughed as she saw the sad face of the man. She had always wanted to tease her friend and even though she was nowhere to be seen, she knew she was still listening.
"Arthur, I know her best since I taught her the way of the sword. So, take my advice. I am sure the day you get married, she will be the first to chase after you."
She said and got a pillow thrown at her face from a now opened door. She laughed as she saw Mi-sun's red face. Arthur smiled and wanted to say something, but only to hear the sound of a door being slammed before he could say anything.
Where they had been looking too before the man came, two individuals watched the apartment from afar.
"Miller, you do know that you are a walking corpse, right?"
A female said to a male figure as they talked in the darkness.
"I was only trying to conserve my totems. Using them would have been a waste on a boy who does not have any power yet."
"Awe, still think it was a good choice?"
"Ye-jun, just leave me alone!"
Miller was annoyed.
"I did not know the boy was being protected. No one told me as such. I did not even know that in the very same neighborhood something big seemed to be going on until I felt my familiars die and I came here."
"I think a powerful Mark has been laid there. That might be their new base from now on."
Ye-jun said.
"Why would something so powerful leave a Mark behind? They only do that when they are protecting something. I can feel that Mark's effects even from where we are. They will get too many resources from such a thing. We should attack it."
Miller said. As his skin trembled.
"Hahaha, says the man who could not kidnap a kid."
The words made him stop talking.
"We can't even get near that building now, it is too late. Many of their elites have arrived anyway. We just have to wait for orders on what to do next. That is if you are still alive by then. Those from the True World do not take kindly to failures."
Miller held his totems after Ye-jun's words, now wishing he had used them.
The next day, two people were found dead by the building the two had been in. They were both missing their brains and lungs and without any incisions being made in their bodies.
Mi-sun was made aware of the incident before she left with Son-join and Mrs. Lee for the airport.
Their ID cards were Ye-jun Jeong and Trevor Miller.
