Nolamine tried to calm himself as much as he could. Time went by as he tried to relax. The sound of the water started to muffle out all the other sounds he was hearing at the time.
He found himself only sensing the vibrations the waterfall was producing. The rush of the water, it hitting the rocks and each drop that spluttered from the impact and then hitting another surface and creating their own waves of vibrations.
Like a trance, it further relaxed him and for the first time he noticed that he could smell the water.
His other senses were being sharpened by him just getting to the state he was in. He had not even started to meditate.
He noticed and followed his breath. He thought to place his attention lightly on his out-breath while remaining aware of his environment. He could tell that he could only hear and feel only the waterfall that was next to him.
He concentrated on each breath as the air went out through his mouth and nostrils and dissolves into the space around him.
