Chapter 18: The Fall

If Rowan had thought waitressing was hard before, it was almost impossible when her mind was occupied with worries about Fyn. She had no way of getting a hold of him, short of rushing back home.

She should have called a doctor or SOMEONE to go check on him. But she stopped herself from disregarding his wishes. It was the only right thing to do.

Despite her failings and her mind being occupied, she managed to survive the day and make a few tips this time as well. It didn’t help that Glenna was behind the stove cooking, and apparently, that made her extremely cranky. The whole time she complained about how the heat was messing up her thick curly red hair and how it would screw up her makeup.

Rowan had tried her best to help. But short of getting a speed course on how-to-cook, she was helpless. By the end of her shift, Rowan was practically bouncing with the need to head home.

She stopped by to say goodbye to Glenna.
