Fyn parked the truck in his driveway and hurried into the woods. With a few quick yanks, he had his uniform off and allowed the shift to take him over. There were always joy and exhilaration when he would run in his wolf form. Even after all these years, there was nothing that quite compared to the wonder of running through the woods.

Maybe the feeling of kissing Rowan.

That thought came out of nowhere and made him miss a step as he ran. He plowed into the ground with a painful thud and then stood up to shake himself off. In his mind, he called himself all sorts of stupid for even thinking that in the first place.

Sure, the kiss with Rowan had been good. He would even go as far as to say it had been great. But it couldn’t possibly have been as good as his memory and body were making it out to be.

And there was no way she was his mate, none whatsoever.
