“I can’t believe Father would believe that she ran off,” Fyn replied, narrowing his eyes on Cass.
Fyn knew he wasn’t telling him the whole truth. There’s no way their father would just accept that the person called his mate would just disappear and not do anything about it.
Cass shook his head. “Father believes that she is taking some time to live her life without being mated. It’s not the first time a woman has done that, and it won’t be the last. But I know Lucilla. She wouldn’t have gone somewhere without letting someone know. She has been taking care of her mother since that car accident. She wouldn’t have just up and left her family like that,” Cass insisted.
“People change and do things that don’t make sense at times,” Fyn tried to explain.
Cass scoffed at Fyn. “I should have known you wouldn’t believe me.”
