“I-I… ummm,” Fyn stuttered a bit.
He had not anticipated Glenna getting angry and offended. Maybe sad or a little upset, but she had always seemed like a reasonable woman. The only explanation that Fyn had was that he had bungled the conversation. He ran his hands through his hair in frustration and decided to start again.
“Glenna, I know you have been interested in me for a long time now. But… I think it’s just because of me saving your son. I’m flattered. Really, I am. I just don’t think I’m the man for you.”
“You just want a younger woman that doesn’t have the same responsibilities! I know this song and dance, Fyn. You don’t want to settle yourself with a woman that already has a child! You don’t have to pretend! I bet that if I was more like… like… like ROWAN, you would jump on what I have to offer you!” Glenna snarled.
“It has nothing to do with Tommy. He’s a great kid, and any man would be proud to have him as a son,” Fyn defended himself.
