Chapter 102: Knock on the Door

Fyn’s jaw went the rest of the way to the floor. “You know?”

Mullucom chuckled. “I’ll take that as a yes. When I was just a little pup, her grandparents stopped by to give us the deed to our land, and I watched as she stopped charging bear from attacking my friends and me. We had snuck away to explore the forest without realizing that a female and her cub were living in a cave nearby. Apparently, Josephine Robertson was talking to her animal friends in the forest when she heard the commotion. If she hadn’t intervened, we would have been in serious trouble.”

Fyn flopped back into his chair and looked at his dad like the man was crazy. It was honestly that the situation was crazy. It honestly seemed like their family was deeply intertwined.

“The Robertson’s are good people, son,” Mullucom told him. “I’m sure she’ll make you a fine mate.”

“But that still leaves the question of who will take your place,” his mother commented. “This pack needs an Alpha, and we’re expected to step up.”
