Chapter 28: The Dinner

“Oh,” Rebecca breathed as they drove toward Leo Vann’s estate. “Oh, my.”

“Pretty impressive, isn’t it?” Nico said, grinning at her reaction.

“Impressive is an understatement,” she said, craning her neck to try and take in everything. The grounds had exquisite landscaping. The house looked like a Spanish hacienda set smack dab into the middle of a fairytale garden, and the spectacular sunset behind the house seemed to give it a magical glow. It wasn’t a short commute, but Rebecca thought it would almost be worth the drive to be able to come home to this every day.

Neither the house nor the grounds weren’t anything new to Nico, so he kept glancing over at Rebecca to admire the creaminess of her skin against the cobalt blue silk blouse she wore. Her slacks were a similarly sleek beige.
