Meeting Tian Shen Again

As the first day of a hundred-day campaign commenced, a specific part of Collared Ghastly Ridge was quite lively than usual.

Meanwhile, in the Cloud Creek Sect.

After threatening Cui Jianjun with a big-scale war, Elder White Line finally took over the True Yellow Cloud and devoured Mao Nianzu to cleanse the undetectable remnant.

Respecting the creator of this True Yellow Cloud, Elder White Line used this Earth-rank with utmost care. He also did not publicly use it and kept its secrecy; thus, Mao Nianzu was moved into the core area of Cloud Creek Sect, where elders and sect master resides.

For outsiders, this area was forbidden. Deadly arrays surrounded it, and many fearsome beasts were intentionally groomed to keep this place safe and to be harvested later on. It's a standard requirement for any sect to have this arrangement.

On an island, the True Yellow Cloud filled the center, bulging in the sky. It's like yellow smoke, and Mao Nianzu lay on a bed within this smoke.

"How long will it take?" Cui Jianjun asked behind Elder White Line. Both were on a different island.

Elder White Line put his hands behind his back while staring at the other shore. "Rascal, I didn't know the True Yellow Cloud got damaged."

Cui Jianjun's body was stiffened. He hurriedly explained, "It's a long story."

"It's not an offensive treasure!" Elder White Line sighed. He slightly waved his hand, and a piece of cloud appeared on his hand like a lump of soft cotton. "You can tell that I'm familiar with this treasure. What did you do?"

"Having this priceless treasure is not a good thing." Cui Jianjun released a heavy breath. "There's a sequence of attacks in the last three hundred years."

"Grim Dao Era makes us greedy for a better cultivation resource." Elder White Line blew the cloud on his hand softly. "No wonder... because this cloud is a perfect treasure to cleanse impurities and to improve a chance of a breakthrough."

"Alas, who would've thought that, in this generation, no one is capable of refining it?"

Cui Jianjun smiled bitterly upon hearing Elder White Line's remark.

True Yellow Cloud was a signature of Cloud Creek Sect, and anyone who could refine it would at least become an elder.

As a result of not refining it, the sect became weaker; their disciples could not improve in cultivation unless someone mastered the main Secret Laws Art that was related to this treasure.

"Let's leave him." Elder White Line flew, followed by Cui Jianjun behind.

On the other side, Mao Nianzu helplessly stared at the sky. It was not suffocating inside the cloud; a bit of tingling sensation like therapy fish tickled your feet.

"Just what went wrong?"

Again. He could not help but recall his life. In particular, after the bestowment and four servants inside the Abyss.

Jobless. He then moved to Rocky Mountain without knowing anything. Meeting his emperor, Tang Chen, somehow inflicted a problem for Tang Chen. And many more. What he did so far was to pretend as a high-profile person while trying to discover Abyss' purpose.

"I understand nothing."

Mao Nianzu placed his right hand in the air, opening and closing it repeatedly. He felt a magical force, the Spiritual Qi, running through his meridians.

After getting a thorough treatment, it caused him breakthrough into the Peak Qi Gathering stage!

"I almost die, yet now I'm in the Peak Qi Gathering stage. It's not even a month after I start cultivating," Mao Nianzu spoke to himself.

According to the Supreme Elder's fundamental cultivation, genius could reach the peak Qi Gathering stage before one year, and generally speaking, thirty to sixty years was the limit.

"Aren't I the darkest luck?" Mao Nianzu was puzzled. He knew that Abyss was real; however, his cultivation speed and luck contradicted each other.

He facepalmed and sighed. Confused about where to start, not even in starting a question.

"Well," a memory flashed through his mind. "I will try to stay true to my intention. First, I come to the south to shed blood."

Taking a deep breath and releasing it slowly, Mao Nianzu stimulated a repetitive people's reaction internally—almost everyone would respect him and lower themselves.

"If what the short elder and Luo Xiulan said is true, then I got a severe disease that threatens my life." Mao Nianzu murmured. "It will be natural for me to be angry, right?"

Mao Nianzu's heart pumped faster. He was nervous over something he would say.

Opening his mouth, he pitifully uttered, "E, Elim, minate them."

'Pathetic!' Mao Nianzu cursed inwardly.

He paused for a moment then repeated it weakly. "Eliminate them."

'Again!'

He whispered to himself. "Kill them."

'Again!'

He bit his lip and slightly arched his chest as he spoke in a normal tone but a shaky voice. "Exterminate them."

'Shit! Again! Raise your anger!'

Mao Nianzu practiced a sentence he'd most likely use. However, he knew that killing one person was not fit in his case, so a whole family must be exterminated.

He was nervous because it was his first time. Mao Nianzu could not help putting himself in the victim's shoes as he underwent a similar sour experience, getting trampled by influential or stronger people.

Suddenly, a recollection flooded his mind. His past bosses and supervisors. Women he liked and people he was closed with. Those who spitted on him or stole everything he had piled up to get a better life.

His sweats. His relentless work.

Mao Nianzu was triggered by these memories as a surge of rage rushed through his veins. He remembered how his bosses scold him as they please, how people stepped on him as though he were an ant.

'Yeah.. What's the use of hesitating?' The knot had lost. Those bastards would be him. And it's alright if he was the godfather of all bastards.

'Abyss, is this what you want?' Mao Nianzu mocked himself.

After that, he fused them all, screaming out of his lung excessively. "ANNIHILATE THEM ALL!"

At this point, the void trembled as a sharp-faced man in a golden, half-armored appeared. He slightly bowed, conjured a circle in the air next to Mao Nianzu's bed, and dragged his leg as both entered the circle.

"Again!? What the fuck is going on?" Mao Nianzu looked around. This spatial tunnel was stable, slightly better than the Cloud Creek Sect's gateway, but pale in comparison to the Abyss tunnel.

He looked at the golden half-armored man. "The palanquin guy?"

"For you to remember me, it's an honor." Yuan Zhen replied without looking back. He still gripped Mao Nianzu's left leg tightly.

Not long after, they arrived at a floating island. The waterfall continued to flow downwards, where white clouds became land, and a clear blue sky covered the horizon.

"Another fairy world." Mao Nianzu admired the beautiful sight. Normally, clouds were above and water was below. But this was basically the opposite!

Calling out two flying swords, Mao Nianzu and Yuan Zhen hopped on and went further.

Mao Nianzu saw exotic birds of various sizes. The biggest was a golden-winged eagle with twenty-meter wings. These birds flew, screeched, or chattered along the way.

As for the island, it had several mountains and lakes. Mao Nianzu could not see all of it but was sure about its magnificent fresh energy.

"This place has a thicker spiritual Qi." Mao Nianzu commented.

After becoming a cultivator, his perception was sharper toward heaven and earth energy. It was a natural course, but his was absolutely nothing compared to a freak genius whose perception was several times greater.

They landed near a lake. There were two piles of land in the middle.

Yuan Zhen led Mao Nianzu toward one of the lands. As they entered, the space slightly rippled and the view changed.

It was now an imperial room. Exquisite marbles, expensive carvings, and coiling dragons in the pillars decorated the room.

Two seemingly consorts' faces were hidden under a veil. They sat in the upper part but lower than the throne, wearing a big sleeve colorful clothes.

No one sat on the throne.

Yuan Zhen and Mao Nianzu stood before a bamboo curtain situated behind the throne.

At this moment, a finger-snapping noise sounded as the bamboo was lifted from within. Tian Shen respectfully stood, giving a slight smile, and let Mao Nianzu sit down.

Still in his calm bearing, Tian Shen poured a cup of wine and offered it to Mao Nianzu.

However, Mao Nianzu's eyes were observing the room.

An oil painting with blurry black and white figure atop a mountain mostly filled one wall. This figure embraced a black sword as though it was his lover. Eight white sharp sheens formed a circle around him, he leaned on a big mineral.

On another side, there's a small bookshelf filled with three scrolls. The vacancy only could contain two more scrolls.

Lastly, on the table, a scroll was spread with four iron weights on each side so it would not close.
