Challenging A Brat (2)

Surely he would tell the occupants of the place, the master or at least a servant - the compound was too large to not have servants; maybe everybody had just been in the remote, shaded back buildings ? - that he was there, make sure someone would come for him.

At least he hoped so. He had not expected to be welcomed with cries of joy, a fatted calf prepared for the returning lost son - which he was not, anyhow - but, traditional martial arts master or not, he had expected a little more modern age common courtesy towards a visitor, especially in a place as remote as this. He certainly didn't want to consider the idea of having to spend the night out in the open mountains, not even at the edge of a town.

He decided to wait until shortly before sunset, to leave only with enough time left to find some inn on the lower slopes of the town, then come back in the morning.
