Chapter 57

"Aunt Flory?" Ruby blurted out, "Do you know how our mother chose our names?"

"No," Aunt Flory said, looking bewildered. "Why?"

"They're unusual," Ruby said.

"I suppose they are," Aunt Flory admitted. "I never thought much about it. I assumed she got them from a book or old movie. She loved to read, and she knew about all the actresses in Hollywood. I do remember thinking they were unusual the first time I heard them, but they were her choice, and that was that." She looked at the girls curiously. "What makes you ask now?"

"You know Ruby." Zoey laughed, guiding Aunt Flory to the door. "She has to know everything."

"Yes, I'm the one that has to know everything," Ruby grumbled.

"We'd better take that sweater to Mrs. Nelson before Mrs. Simpson sends the police," Zoey said sweetly.
