Chapter 27: A matter of love and death (part 2)

"What else do you remember?"

Proserpina tried not to tear the blankets weighing uncomfortably down on her but she did not dare to release her grip on the stuffed toy just in case William notices the way her ungloved hands tremble, suddenly feeling like the walls were closing in on her as she held the toy with her other hand. It was a silly thing to do, to continue to cling on an old doll as an adult, as a goddess for protection.

She desperately tried to think of an answer over the faint trembling of her hands, "The usual thing that happens when the curse was triggered, I told you this already."

"Yes Winters, you vaguely told me what you feel during your episodes," her brother groused, his fingers digging on his arms as he glared down at her, "...but not what you remember last night. Stop stalling already!"

So, he noticed.

(Proserpina isn't sure if she should be proud or annoyed that she had taught him how to read people so well.)
