When Parker and Lucien arrived at Lissa’s house, Lissa’s mother was frantic. 


“Parker, I called your house ten times, where have you been, where is Lissa?” she asked. Parker shook her head. 


“I…um…I was out,” Parker said. “I haven’t seen Lissa today. Is she…what’s going on?”


“I’m calling the police,” Lissa’s mother said, pulling out her cell phone. “I haven’t seen Lissa all day and she hasn’t called or texted at all!” 


“Mrs. Maxwell, I’m going to go and see if I can find Lissa at some of our hangout spots. I’ll let you know if I find anything,” Parker said. 


“Yes, thank you, Parker,” Lissa’s mother said. She closed the door as the police answered her call. 


“Of course, he would snatch Lissa the night before Caelus arrives,” Lucien said as they drove back to Parker’s house. “That is his insurance policy for making sure Damien and I don’t run away with you. Now that your mother…” he trailed off.
