Chapter 41: No New Messages

Isaac checked his phone for the fifth time in two minutes, only to find the same lack of new messages that had been there all day.

He listed sideways on the couch. Beck sat at the kitchen table, editing his latest batch of photos. “Are you sure Sean actually wants to see me?” He’d texted Sean that morning about meeting up for lunch or dinner, and it was now mid-afternoon with no response.

“Positive. He’s probably busy with the show. It’s only two weeks away.”

Isaac sighed and checked his phone again. “He hasn’t asked to meet since the shelter. That was a week ago.”

“Oh my god,” Beck groaned, shoving his face in his hands. “You didn’t even want to see him until the other day!”

“I know! And he’s turned down every chance I’ve given him since you told me to go for it!” Just in case Sean really did return Isaac’s feelings, Isaac wanted to give him the chance to say it.
