we were grabbing nearly everything in the store that was 'edible', we checked out and Sam headed to the bathroom with the key he got from the store clerk.
I was now staring at the car we drove here in, more importantly it was my sister's car.
is it still alright to call her my sister?
well we might not be blood related, and my memories may be fake, but I feel that dispite all of that, I still see them all as my family.
my real memories may be a little fuzzy but there coming back slowly, and I remember now that white haired woman was or is my biological mother.
"Ren, she called me Ren..." I muttered to myself, "is that the name she gave me, it feels oddly right hearing it, I don't know..."
suddenly two girls, both had blonde hair and blue eyes, one was wearing a black croptop and a pair of leggings, the other was wearing a vibrant white summer dress.
there faces were a little red as the one in the sun dress handed me something.
I was a little folded card.
"hmm, what's thi-?" I started to ask but they where already gone.
before I could unfold the card it was snatched out of my hands by Sam.
he started to read it with a curious look in his eyes, but his face slowly turned in a scowl.
"that's not fair dammit!" he yelled dramatically.
"hey, that's mine, let me read it..." I said trying to get the card back.
"no, it's not important, just get in the damn car!" Sam ordered walking over towards the driver's seat.
"speaking of the car..." I started, "why are we in my sister's car."
Sam looked at me with blank eyes, "because we were low on time when we left, and it's a absolute beast of a car obviously..." he said with a matter-of-factly tone.
he was right, the car is a black 1969 two door dodge challenger.
I agree with Sam it really is a nice car.
"just get in..." he said getting in the driver's seat.
as I sat down I was instantly assaulted by the smoke of Sam's blunt.
"damn bro how the hell did you light it so fast?" I asked through coughs.
he looked over at me with wide eyes.
"because I'm a master bro..." Sam said with a proud smile.
"fine whatever, just don't get completely blasted while driving..." I said with a tired expression.
"don't worry bro, you know I'm always stoned it became literally the way I function..." he stated while passing me the blunt.
I took the blunt, took a hit and instantly felt the warmth fill my body, and I started to feel very relaxed.
it wasn't as strong as the other day but it was what Sam would call 'high quality'.
"about the blood?" I asked Sam.
"that, it's nothing really..." he looked at me with bloodshot eyes, "just that your a vampire..."
"what?" I looked at him like he grown a second head.
"yup, your a vampire and apparently a pretty high ranking one." he continued, "I'll give you a history lesson..."
"hundreds of thousands of years ago there were two goddesses of the moon, one a goddess of the blue moon, and the other a godess of the red moon, they made a bet, that if they were to create a creature that would be far superior then the other, the first of there creations were born from them with direct blood ties." Sam continued his history lesson.
"those two children would go on to make two races of the knight, vampires created from the child of the red moon goddess, and werewolves created from the child of the blue moon goddess."
"after each one turned a couple hundred of people into there respeded race, they procreated naturaly for hundreds of years, hundreds turned into thousands, and thousands turned in tens of thousands, and so one and so forth."
"and then there's you, an unknown vamp, with an unknown heritage." Sam finished his lesson.
"me a vampire, then shouldn't I be burning in the sun and not be able to eat human food?" I questioned.
"normally yes, low to mid ranking Vampires can't survive in the sun without assistance and can't eat human food." Sam confirmed,
"but your different, your probably a high ranking vampire."
"your both immune to the sun and able to eat human food, but like any vamp you still need blood as a food source." Sam stated.
"then why was the blood in an IV?" I pressed.
"because I wasn't gonna feed you myself, and it seemed to work just fine..." Sam stated in a matter-of-factly tone.
"whatever, anyway where are we going and why LA?" I changed the subject.
"because, this wonderful place is filled to the brim with vamps and wolves alike!" Sam exclaimed joyfully, "Even some other races too..."
"and the answer to the 'why' is because your going to train yourself with your newly acquired abilities, and learn to control yourself with the drawbacks that will start to surface..." he said in a serious tone.
I didn't reply, instead I got lost in thought,
vampires, werewolves, and possibly other races, what the hell did I get sucked into? does it even matter if I run and hide, or stay get stronger and fight, and if it's the latter, then who am I fighting, the group that the the people that killed my family belonged to? my intire world is currently flipped upside down, and there's nothing I can do about it.
then there's the issue with my memories, the answers I want, no need are far from my grasp, and I got the feeling that that group has something to do with my current problem.
whatever and whomever they are, I'll get my answers no matter what.
some time passed and we get off an exit from the highway.
we pulled up a dirt road that lead to a large secluded house.
"what the hell is this?" I asked in awe.
"this will be our home for a couple years, now help me bring in the shit that's in the trunk." Sam stated.
in the trunk was a black bag that had a inchanting smell coming from it.
"what's in this bag?" I questioned almost drooling.
"blood, the same blood that was in the IV. Sam said grabbing the other bag, "you will only drink a little at a time, so you can learn to go longer times without blood, and to teach you to control the bloodlust that you will experience."
"and soon we'll start hunting..." Sam said with a grin.
