Chapter 138

"We are here." The driver stopped in front of a mansion in the upper east of New York. 

I stepped out of the car, staring at a home that should have been mine. A home I lost. Tears prickled my cheeks, my lips curving in disgust. 

"I don't know if I can do this." 

My lips mumbled the exact words I was struggling to ignore. The words that have been chiming in my head making me feel like I don't deserve this sudden 'miracle' as I call it. 

But it was mine, it has always been mine.

I strode towards the mansion's gate, my eyes scrutinizing the elegant structure and fancy cars, with servants more than the staff at a standard departmental store.

How wealthy are these people? I mean my parents. 

At least that's what the DNA test says. But I can never get used to calling them that-

'Parents' 

I've come to despise that word. It has brought me nothing but pain.
