Leo brought back two bodies, one belonged to Leko and the other to the Night-Cat.
Ai was worried and terrified. She tried looking for Leo just outside but couldn't find him. She couldn't leave the orphanage and go look for him either since other kids were inside as well.
She had no one to rely on either since most of them were asleep. No one would just help if they didn't have any personal gain.
Ai almost broke from the inside when in the morning, she found Leo walking towards her with a body in his hand and a beast on his back.
She was, at first, surprised and terrified by looking at the beast.
Leo continued to walk and arrived near the entrance of the mansion after which he slowly put down the beast.
*dun*
The beast was so heavy that the moment it fell on the ground, it made a loud sound.
Ai was shocked to see Leo carrying such a heavy beast. Well, he had been awakened and had also reached level 2, so this much was quite normal.
"Leo, where-"
Before she could ask anything, Leo handed over Leko's body to her.
"Auntie…"
"Father is no more.", he said in a wavy voice.
Although it was morning, it was still a bit dark. Also, Leo had covered Leko's body and face with the shirt that he was wearing, so she couldn't see him.
But after saying that and removing the shirt gently, tears broke out of her eyes as she glanced at his smiling yet life-less face.
She fell on her knees as Leko was put down. She started crying a lot more.
Mourning at someone's death is quite common, but for Ai who had spent a lot of time with Leko, this was much more than just a stranger's death.
She wasn't exactly in love, but they surely had a brother-sister relationship. It was obvious that a sister would mourn the death of her brother whom she loved with her whole heart.
Leo walked close and bent while patting her.
She could no longer control herself and ended up hugging Leo tightly. He then slowly moved his hand around her back in order to console her.
He too shed a few tears but that was only for a moment. He had already resolved himself to take care of the children, Ai, and the orphanage so he couldn't break again.
He said, "We have to inform the kids…"
Ai controlled herself and wiped her tears. She then stood up and walked towards the orphanage to wake the kids and inform them about the horrible news.
Leo looked at the body of the beast and then decided to sell it for a large sum of money, however, he wasn't sure if that was possible.
The village in which they were living was poor. There were no good shops or auction halls where he could sell the beast's body.
Though, the next village named Berela had an auction hall. Leo decided to travel all the way there, but the problem was, he had to carry the beast's body all the way.
Also, he didn't know the route that would take him to Berela.
'If only I had Void Storage…', he said to himself.
Yes, Void Storage was one of the mystic arts that he had in the past life.
He could acquire that mystic art in this life as well, but his power was not enough right now.
'Void storage is kind of a high-level mystic art…'
'But according to the power I feel at level 2, I think I will be able to use it when I reach level 11…', he concluded.
Regardless, Ai was now inside, trying to wake the kids up. Meanwhile, Leo picked up the cat's body and brought it inside along with Leko.
After that, he called out to Ai, "Auntie…"
Ai rushed outside only to hear Leo explaining about the funeral.
But Ai still knew not how Leko was killed.
In fact, even Leo hadn't realized it until now. After hearing her question, he recalled what the old woman had said about the Holy Analyzers beating him up.
All of a sudden Leo's expression changed.
It was scary, yes quite scary. His blood vessels were visible as if they had been widened because of anger.
Ai, for a second, was startled.
"The analyzers…"
"This everything happened because of them…", he grit his teeth after saying that.
Ai was surprised after hearing that.
She was confused as well, but then Leo explained the entire situation that the old woman had narrated.
After hearing all that, she felt much more pain. But yes, some of the previously existed pain was directed towards anger. But she couldn't do anything since the Holy Analyzers hail from a great noble lineage. They have to do nothing other than obey them no matter what so she kept quiet on the matter.
"Auntie, I will go to the next village and sell this corpse of the beast."
"No."
"You shouldn't go!"
Ai knew very well about the dangers of traveling alone. Especially, if it was a kid wandering alone, then nothing could be guaranteed.
Leo finally convinced her when he said, "Auntie, look at this…"
*zoom*
A black-colored smoke was generated right after which wind was blasted away from him.
"Y-"
"You-"
"You have awakened your Beast Soul!?", she asked with surprise.
She could hardly believe what she saw. A little amount of black smoke emerged from his legs from where a shockwave was fired in all directions, in the form of a circle!
"Yes.", he nodded his head.
The thing was, in this world, the levels weren't explicitly mentioned. Yes, a stranger couldn't actually analyze and find at what level a cultivator is as soon as they see them. It was the cultivator that would let them know of their levels.
Well, how would one show what level he is at without fighting?
It was simple, a sonic wave was fired from their body.
"…"
