A Small Village To Train In

Leo raised his eyebrow. He was surprised Duan could casually converse about ghosts and ghouls after what he had experienced.

"Oh right, Duan. I have something to ask you.", Fen said as his expression turned serious.

"Yeah?"

"Why did you run away from here?"

Duan smiled.

He moved and closed the door of the room. Then he sat on his bed and while asking others to huddle closer, he started telling about what had happened.

"I was lying."

Shen and Fen snapped their heads to look at Duan. "What? Lie? Why would you lie? And what lie?"

"Because it was supposed to be a secret. I don't think there is someone who would be taken from this room so I can tell I suppose...", Duan answered honestly. "I was well aware of the rumors flying around the academy, and I didn't want to make it any worse."

Shen scoffed, "And you didn't bother telling us until now?"

"You didn't ask!", Duan said as he raised his hands defensively.

Fen wanted to debate, but he realized Duan was telling the truth.
