The Second Wedding

It took a little more convincing not only to the doctor to become her second husband, but for the Royal Advisors to accept him. Persephone cleaned him up as best she could and he did make a good impression. Yet there wasn’t much that could hide the shakes in his hands or the smell of alcohol that seemed to roll off of him no matter how many times he washed. Nonetheless, the Royal Advisors didn’t have much choice.

The wedding didn’t have as much fanfare as the first. Persephone could tell people were uncomfortable with how quick it was all happening. She couldn’t help but think about the guests gripping their pearls when she had another dead husband under her belt.
