The Third Wedding

Delphi stood behind her love, listening to the princess repeat her vows for the third time. This was the part Delphi hated the most. It should be her holding Persephone’s hands, looking into her eyes, not at the back of her head. Although as much as she wished it, that would never be a possibility. She pushed those thoughts down and tried to focus on the task at hand.

She had a terrible feeling in the pit of her stomach. This whole affair hasn’t been the easiest to swallow, but at least she had some control over it. She would find the man who deserved to die and Persephone would get rid of him after he served his purpose. But this man, who had the creepiest eyes she’d ever seen, Delphi knew nothing about him. He was from another village so she couldn’t get any information on him. And the fact that he was handpicked by the Royal Advisors was not a good sign. She didn’t trust anything about him.
