Regi's Unwavering Trust!

Reginald POV

Today marked Rose’s seventh birthday, yet celebration was far from her mind. It was this very day, years ago, that she lost her grandmother. Amidst the lingering sorrow, the thought of celebrating felt distant, almost misplaced.

"I am closing the restaurant and I am getting a job.” She blurted out during dinner.

"What about the shop?"

Didn't she know she needed to be able to read in order to get that job.

"I am keeping the shop." I was not surprised when I heard that.

"Ok. Then what?"

I asked curiously.

"Then I am giving you six months to teach me everything I need to know to get a job at the sheriff department."

"You're joking right."

"I am dead serious. And I know what you're thinking."

"How is it you always know what I am thinking?"

Chuckled!

"I know you better than you think I do. You're thinking that I couldn't possibly learn to read in six months. Well I am telling you that I can.”
