Chapter 44: Do We Make It Back Alive?

Fearing the worst, I was right. I didn’t get to him in time, so we head to the front of the house. When we get to the vehicles, five men surround us before I can get Arabella safely inside.

As soon as I have her lock the car door, I turn around and face them like a real man. I scan the area and notice two things. Four of them have already started to change, the other one is still in his human form.

Not too sure why he hasn’t changed, I don’t care either. Soon enough, I will be knee deep in blood and guts, so the last thing on my mind is why he hasn’t changed. Glancing around one last time while they continue to change, I see something in the distance I didn’t expect.
