I found out a lot from the guy. His name is Peter.
He had recently been sacked from his job, and it became hard to provide for his girlfriend. She left him for another man who had more money.
I asked myself so many questions after hearing his story.
Love had been tainted. Here I am, looking for true love with no strings attached, and someone else throws it just like that. It's a pity.
Well. Peter knew his way around West City like the palm of his hand. He took me to the center of the City. Two tall buildings in the middle faced each other like giants. The designs were different, but they looked majestic.
"Here we are." He said, standing before one of the tall buildings holding his waist in excitement
"What? This place?" I asked in amazement. The place looked expensive, but I didn't care. Well, it was not like I could not afford the place. The amount of money in my account could help me start my business and manage it from my pocket for a whole 5 years.
To start a business, there is always a plan before taking a step. You cannot start a company blindly. You have set your financial plan ahead of everything and then set out to do it. That is what my father will always tell us when we tell him we want to start a business.
"This place is amazing, and it's in a strategic location." I could not avoid commenting looking at the surrounding area. The place was crowded and the best for business.
"How did you find this place?" I asked him.
"I have my ways." He shrugged his shoulders, going inside, "let's go," he said, leading the way inside the building.
The interior design from the main entrance was beautiful. The secretary on the ground floor greeted Peter in respect. I didn't connect the dots, but he seemed to be known in the place. We entered the elevator. He pressed on the 7th floor.
"Wow. This place is super," I exclaimed, looking at the huge empty hall and the different offices in the whole of the 7th floor.
"Do you like the place?" he asked.
"Yes. It's great." I answered back, looking down from the huge floor-ceiling window. I could see the beautiful city scenery from where I stood. Peter could not have found a better place than that.
"So, what business do you plan to do?" Peter asked me, looking at me in curiosity.
"I want to do event planning and interior designing," I said, deep in thoughts. It took a while to come up with the business. I wanted something that would make me put smiles on the faces of the different clients. I wanted to be part of the happiest moments of others in their lives.
I thought maybe it could help me get on my feet and make a living from there.
"Have you decided on the name of the business?" he asked
"Yes. I have already registered it and got all the necessary papers for the business." I said to him. His face brightened with an amazing smile. It made my heart skip a bit. He looked really handsome. Though I could not compare him to James, he looked dashing
"Well, I chose JS events," I said to him, and he looked at me like I snatched something from him
"That is a very simple name, but its good." he said, holding his chin in thought, "Is that your name?' he asked.
"Yes. Jane Smith Events." I said, looking down
"It's good. If you like the place, I could help with the paperwork," he suggested, still looking at me.
"I love it. Are they renting or selling" I snapped back to reality and asked the most important question
"It's up to you. You can decide to rent or buy it." He said
He showed me the prices on his phone, and I was surprised. They were very affordable.
"How could this place be so cheap? It's in the middle of the City." I asked in surprise
He didn't answer me, but he shrugged his shoulder.
"I'll buy it." It was best to get it permanently and enjoy doing business without hiccups that may arise due to rent or conflict of interest with other people
"Okay. I will arrange for the paperwork and get back to you." Peter said, smiling. I wondered why he was helping me, but I swallowed the words.
"Peter," I called him. He looked at me in expectation
"Would you like to work with me?" I asked him out of the blues. I didn't intend to do it at first, but I felt he was a nice guy, and we could work together
"Of course. I would love to work with you. I am a designer myself. I did interior designing in college, but I didn't get a chance to implement it. It could be a great opportunity to work with you." He said a hint of excitement in his tone
"Good. From now on, you are the vice president of the company," I said to him, extending my hand for a deal. He hesitated for a while before shaking my hand
"Thank you very much for the job. I won't disappoint you," he said
"Good"
We exchanged contacts, and he promised to send the paperwork to me. I gave him my address as well before leaving him to arrange everything.
In excitement, I almost forgot what brought me to the city center. I took a taxi to the mall and bought a massive 55" inch TV. I had a thing for huge screens. Especially when watching my favorite action movies.
I later passed by the grocery shop and bought foodstuff that could take me a month. I hate going outdoors when I have nothing important to do. Maybe that's why my father always forces me to hang out with my friends when at home.
Done with everything, I went back to my place. I went out of the taxi and opened the gate for the driver to help me get them inside. Of course, I had to pay him extra for it.
