“What!?” I looked up, staring at Shanz.

“The dagger’s in my desk drawer, lower one. Get it before I pass out.” She said, slumped against the couch.

How could she be so calm with a request like that? When I first met her, it was clear to me that she had a strange obsession with becoming stronger, to fit in with the populace.

I understood that, sure. It was law that all celestial beings, destroyers said to be brewed from dark magic, were to be reported to authorities, the Knights of the Round Table. But knowing Shanzina, she was only a woman like me, who happened to be from another dimension.

Pressure began to build up in my ears as if I was deep underwater; everything I heard was muffled and warped.

“I don’t know if it’s normal in your world to stab each other, but I am not doing that.” I stood, trying to blink away the nuisance inside. “Aren’t there other ways you can get mana-energy back?
